As part of efforts to help civilians injured in the Hamas-Israel war, Italy has delivered humanitarian aid to the region by plane and a military medical ship is scheduled to arrive at Egypt's Al Arish port on December 3.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who is attending the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, will travel to the UAE with a team of pediatricians from two Italian children's hospitals.
In another development, during a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on November 30, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for a complete ceasefire in Gaza.
Mahmoud Abbas highlighted the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, especially in the context of increased attacks by Jewish settlers since October 7. The president affirmed that the Palestinian leadership has not abandoned its responsibility to the people of Gaza.
