Speaking at the program, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the nation's thousands of years of history of building and defending the country have written an immortal heroic epic about ardent patriotism, solidarity, and steadfastness in fighting against foreign invaders, protecting the independence and sacred territorial integrity of the Fatherland with the aspiration for freedom, peace and happiness.

Every Vietnamese person today engraves in their heart that every moment of living in peace and happiness has been exchanged for the sacrifices and blood of generations of fathers and ancestors. In the two great resistance wars to save the country alone, 1.2 million outstanding sons of the nation fell, their bodies becoming the land of the Fatherland; their souls flying up to become the spirit of the nation.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that in the two great resistance wars alone, 1.2 million outstanding sons of the nation had fallen. To date, there are still nearly 200,000 martyrs whose remains have not been found, and nearly 300,000 martyrs' graves have not yet been identified.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that over the past 76 years, the Party, the State and the whole society have paid great attention to the work of gratitude, caring for the families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services. Many policies have been implemented synchronously, improving the living standards of people with meritorious services and their relatives.

The entire political system has joined hands to build and restore monuments to honor martyrs. The search, collection and identification of remains of martyrs with missing information has also been stepped up.

The Deputy Prime Minister was moved when recalling the heroic memories of "56 days and nights of digging mountains, sleeping in tunnels, pouring rain and eating rice balls. Blood mixed with mud. Unwavering courage. Unwavering will" to have "9 years of making Dien Bien, becoming a red wreath, becoming a golden history".

"We respect, engrave and forever remember the great contributions of revolutionary predecessors, heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, martyrs' families and meritorious people" - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized.

Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - General Director of the program said that the difference in the Immortal Epic TV show is the idea of not recreating the pain of war with the sound of bombs and bullets, scenes of casualties on the battlefield, but with a different appearance.

That is the beauty and nobility of sacred patriotism, of noble ideals, of youthfulness and revolutionary heroism, of pure and steadfast love, of genuine and profound comradeship and compatriotism. The program also does not recount history in a linear sequence of events and numbers from the past to the present, but from a humane and romantic perspective.

Accordingly, the program will last 90 minutes, including the ceremony: Memorial bell ringing, lighting candles in gratitude; The art part includes three chapters: The call of the country ; Immortal petals ; The song of peace .

The program has the participation of artists: People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Hoai Bac, Meritorious Artist Pham Phuong Thao, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, singers Tung Duong, Pham Thu Ha, Trong Tan, Vo Ha Tram, Truong Quy Hai, Vuong Long, Huu Hiep; artists of the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theater, the Student String Orchestra of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Hanoi Conservatory of Music Children's Orchestra, the Thang Long Group, the Lavender Dance Group and a group of veterans.

Along with the songs that have been with us for many years, the program has brought many emotions with segments such as the reports "Songs Through Steel Walls" and "School in the Middle of the Ocean". Years have passed, but the tragic memories still remind today's generation of the message "life arises from death, happiness appears from hardships and sacrifices".
