Houses in Soc Son district were submerged in floodwaters up to 3 meters high, leaving thousands of people without electricity or clean water.
The water level of Cau River and Ca Lo River (the section flowing through Soc Son District) rose, causing flooding in many areas. Images were recorded by reporters on the afternoon of September 12 and the morning of September 13.
Mom, Dong and Doai hamlets (in Viet Long commune, Soc Son) turned into "oases".
Previously, nearly 1,000 people in the three hamlets of Mom, Dong and Doai had to evacuate to ensure their safety. According to authorities, the entire Soc Son district has more than 3,000 households and 15,000 people affected by the rising water levels of Cau and Ca Lo rivers in recent days, and Viet Long commune is the most affected.
Providing goods to people in deeply flooded areas is facing difficulties due to the flood waters.
Floodwaters were 2 to 3 meters deep, making boats the main means of transportation for residents. In the photo, residents of Mom hamlet had to climb onto roofs to receive supplies.
Isolated households are living without electricity and clean water.
The lives of people in deeply flooded areas of Viet Long commune were disrupted and seriously affected.
Many people living here said they had never witnessed such "horrifying" flooding.
In recent days, many organizations and individuals in the district and city have called to visit, encourage and directly bring necessities and medicine to help people.
Faced with the complicated developments of floods on Cau River and Ca Lo River, the People's Committee of Soc Son District has requested the authorities of 13 communes to focus on checking and urgently evacuating people to safe shelters. Currently, the water level of these two rivers has also exceeded the historical flood peak.
