Video: Group of people performing rituals and entering a trance at Huong Tich Pagoda
On March 4, answering VTC News, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Head of the Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area (Thien Loc Commune, Can Loc District, Ha Tinh) said that she had just discovered and handled a group of people with superstitious activities at Huong Tich Pagoda.
“At around 10am on March 3, management staff discovered a group of people showing signs of superstitious activities in the form of spirit possession. The area where this group of people held spirit possession was the temple’s Tam The shrine,” said Ms. Ha.
After discovering the incident, the authorities quickly stopped it and invited the person performing the spirit possession to work.

According to initial information, the person who performed the spirit possession was Ms. Phan Thi Ch. (from Nghi Loc, Nghe An province). This person came to "perform the ceremony" for some tourists at Huong Tich pagoda.
During the ceremony, this group of people took advantage of the situation to perform some superstitious activities, such as spirit possession and 'tiger spirit' possession. The people around them knelt down and performed actions that violated the regulations.
The authorities have propagated, explained and forced a commitment not to repeat similar activities in the Huong Tich pagoda area.
The group of people involved also admitted that their superstitious behavior was wrong and would correct the violations.
Huong Tich Pagoda is located on the top of Hong Linh Mountain, known as “Hoan Chau’s most famous landscape”. Every year, this place attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world to burn incense and enjoy the scenery.
The Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area recommends that visitors from all over the country come to the pagoda to pray for peace and safety and not bring votive paper, beer, alcohol, real money and offerings derived from killing to the Tam Bao Temple, the Buddha Temple, the Tam The Temple, and the Ancestral Temple.
