Resolutely handle the site clearance congestion at Tam Giang bridge project

Tam Giang Bridge Project started construction in April 2017, with a total investment of 151,482 billion VND, a bridge length of 210.5m including 4 pillars, 2 abutments, 5 spans and 469.5m long approach roads at both ends of the bridge. The company invested with the goal of completing the infrastructure, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development, ensuring national security and defense.

According to the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district, the project has been under construction while carrying out compensation and site clearance work, so it has encountered many difficulties and obstacles during the construction process for many years. Up to now, the bridge has been completed, the remaining 100m of the approach road towards Nui Thanh town has been treated for weak soil and is being loaded for subsidence monitoring. The approach road towards Tam Giang commune is 369m long, the remaining 248m of the first section of the route has not been constructed due to land clearance issues of some households.

Up to now, 6/7 households have agreed to hand over the land, only Mr. Ho Minh Tan and Ms. Luong Thi Tinh have not agreed to receive compensation because the compensation price is low.

In addition, the construction scope of the approach road to the bridge on the Tam Giang commune side is 248m, of which 11.84m is left to treat the weak soil. After treating the weak soil, it is necessary to fill the soil with load and wait for settlement for 7 months, affecting the project progress.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung acknowledged the efforts of the units related to the project, especially the compensation and site clearance work which has been basically handled after a long period of delaying the construction progress.

“In addition to urging households to hand over the actual site, in the case of Mr. Tan and Ms. Tinh, the locality needs to urgently have a plan to completely handle the situation, mobilize people to comply with the policies of the Party and the State, highlight the benefits of completing the Tam Giang bridge project, and contribute to local development. We suggest that the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district have a plan to send to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, then propose to the Provincial People's Committee for early approval so that the project can continue construction and be put into use" - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung suggested.
