On the afternoon of March 20, 2023, in Thanh Hoa, the seminar "Tourism Trends 2025" took place, gathering many experts, managers and business leaders in the tourism industry. At the event, experts analyzed the overall picture of the tourism industry in the coming year.

According to Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Vietnam Institute for Tourism Development Research, domestic tourism continues to be the main growth driver, along with the trend of relaxing and high-end experience tourism, tourists are not only looking for economical trips but are willing to spend more for quality services. Meanwhile, the outbound market tends to shift to new destinations such as the Middle East and Europe thanks to favorable visa policies.

Not only identifying trends, the seminar also offers solutions to help businesses adapt to the new needs of tourists. According to Ms. Tran Thi Kim Qui, Permanent Deputy General Director of FLC Hotels & Resorts: “Tourists today are not only looking for accommodation, they want a comprehensive experience from resort, cuisine, culture to entertainment. Therefore, we focus on the all-in-one model, fully integrating utilities in one destination, while personalizing services to suit each group of tourists. Facilities can be built, product and service incentives can be created, prices can be reduced, but training passionate people, bringing dedicated services from the heart is the decisive factor for travel agencies".

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Vietnam Institute for Tourism Development Research, also expressed agreement with Ms. Qui's opinion: "When tourists fall in love, they no longer need to care about the price."

In addition, experts also emphasized the role of digital transformation in tourism. Technology not only helps optimize operations but also enhances the experience for tourists through smart applications, from personalized itinerary suggestions to real-time tourist support.

Sharing about this trend, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Qui commented: “AI and digital technology have been and are effective tools in supporting the operation of the tourism industry. However, due to the nature of the service, which requires high emotions and personalized experiences, the human factor still plays a core role in creating a difference and increasing value for tourists.”

One of the most interesting topics at the seminar was solutions for localities to accompany businesses during the price storm season. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Hong Long, it is necessary to build tourism products suitable to the strengths of each region, taking advantage of local resources to enhance the value of the experience.

Experts and businesses believe that 2025 will be a boom year for the tourism industry if we take advantage of the right opportunities. Quickly anticipating trends will be the key to helping Vietnam’s tourism develop sustainably in the new context.
