(BLC) - Implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms (PCTHTL), recently, many agencies and units in Nam Nhun district have promoted the movement to build a smoke-free working environment. Thereby, raising awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco, mobilizing cadres, civil servants and workers to build a healthy, civilized, smoke-free environment.
Medical facilities in Nam Nhun district are always at the forefront of the movement to build a smoke-free working environment. Each medical staff member always sets an example for the community in terms of health protection awareness by not smoking and complying with the regulations prohibiting smoking in the workplace. Maintaining this model sustainably has brought many benefits, contributing to improving the effectiveness of treatment and increasing people's satisfaction with health care activities.
Doctor Lo The Khanh - Director of Nam Nhun District Medical Center said: "To implement the model of smoke-free medical facilities, the unit has placed many "no smoking" signs and billboards and posters in crowded places such as: offices, examination areas and patient rooms. Launching the model of "smoke-free medical facilities" to 11 commune and town medical stations in the area, associated with promoting communication work on the Law on Tobacco Control and diseases caused by smoking".
At the office of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Nam Nhun town, where many units, organizations and individuals regularly come to handle administrative procedures. In the work of receiving people, handling administrative work as well as building the image of a smoke-free working environment, the People's Committee of the town always pays attention to thoroughly informing and implementing to cadres and civil servants in implementing office culture. Thereby, 100% of cadres and civil servants have signed a commitment to implement a cultural lifestyle in the office, including the content of building a smoke-free working environment, contributing to creating a civilized and polite lifestyle for cadres and civil servants.
Regulations on building a smoke-free working environment are placed in an easily observable location at the headquarters of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Nam Nhun town (Nam Nhun district).
Comrade Dinh Thi Thi - Vice Chairman of Nam Nhun Town People's Committee said: "Implementing the Law on Tobacco Control, especially in building a smoke-free working environment, every cadre and civil servant of the commune is thoroughly informed of the regulations on tobacco control. Currently, 100% of commune leaders, cadres, and people coming to work and transacting do not smoke. We are gradually building an effective office culture, creating a clean, smoke-free environment."
Building a smoke-free working environment, ensuring that non-smokers can breathe fresh air; agencies and units in Nam Nhun district have organized for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers to sign a commitment not to smoke. The movement to build a smoke-free working environment in agencies and offices in Nam Nhun district has initially achieved remarkable results; awareness of compliance with the prohibition of smoking in agencies and units has increased, contributing to more effective implementation of the Law on Tobacco Control.
