Lai Chau tourism industry has been making new strides in development, gradually becoming one of the economic sectors with an important position in the service sector structure of the province; State management of tourism has been gradually improved and operated effectively; a number of tourism infrastructure projects have been invested in, built and renovated to create favorable conditions for tourists to visit; a number of tourist areas and spots have been formed and put into operation with sufficient competitiveness in the regional and national markets; communication, promotion and tourism promotion activities have been focused on and implemented in many contents and forms to bring the image of "Land - Nature - Culture - People of Lai Chau and tourism products" to domestic and international friends, investors...; the increasing indicators of tourist arrivals have gradually positioned the brand of Lai Chau tourism in the region and the whole country.

Up to now, tourist attractions and tourism businesses have been increasingly developed in both quantity and quality; landscapes and environmental sanitation at tourist attractions have been increasingly improved to be "green - clean - beautiful"; coordination to ensure security and safety in tourism activities has been maintained regularly; support activities and provision of information to serve tourists have gradually brought about effectiveness; people's awareness of the effectiveness of tourism for socio-economic development has been raised; tourism development creates jobs, increases income, contributes to shifting the economic structure for people, gradually making Lai Chau a new destination chosen by many tourists to explore and experience.

In 2024, the whole province is estimated to welcome 1,359,000 visitors (of which: 1,328,500 domestic visitors; 30,500 international visitors), an increase of 30% over the same period in 2023 and 20.5% compared to the 2024 plan; revenue from tourists is estimated at over VND 1,084 billion, an increase of 38.3% over the same period in 2023 and 11.3% compared to the 2024 plan.

However, in addition to the achieved results, there are still some shortcomings and limitations: Tourism infrastructure is not yet synchronized, some projects have been approved for investment in 2024, but the implementation progress is still slow; Lai Chau's tourism products are not commensurate with the existing potential, there are few products, the service quality is not high; especially there is a lack of entertainment services, shopping areas and additional services that meet the requirements of the high-end customer market segment;... Tourism service businesses are mainly small enterprises, low competitiveness;... Tourism communication and promotion work has basically been promoted, but is still small and irregular due to limited resources;...
