NBC News quoted King County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Mellis as saying that law enforcement received multiple emergency calls via 911 at around 5:00 a.m. (local time) about a shooting at a house in Fall City, Washington state.
Police arrived at the scene immediately, taking one teenage suspect into custody while another injured teenager was taken to a Seattle hospital, Mellis said. Both lived at the home where the shooting occurred.
Other victims managed to call police from the bathroom of the home while hiding from the shooter, but were unable to escape the tragedy. Police said they found the bodies of two adults and three other teenagers, but have not released their identities.
Spokesperson Mellis said the shooting may have involved members of the same family, but noted that the suspect’s relationship to the victims was not yet known. A neighbor of the home where the shooting occurred said a couple and their five children lived there.
The suspect was booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center. The teen is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday or Wednesday, and could face first- or second-degree murder charges.
