Responding to Dan Tri reporters this afternoon (August 16), the leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the Board of Directors of Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh has sent a letter of apology to parents, and at the same time revoked the decision requiring students to transfer schools that this unit had previously issued.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Bang, the female student's parent, said that he and his family appreciated the school's spirit of learning and wanted to close the case.
"We are very grateful for the prompt intervention of the Inspectorate and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's leadership for promptly taking action and thoroughly resolving this matter. However, the family still maintains the decision to transfer their child to another school," said Mr. Bang.

It is known that previously, the leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training had given instructions related to the incident at Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh because of the decision to stop training students.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requires the Principal of Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh to be responsible for arranging and assigning students to classes in accordance with regulations.
Class arrangement must ensure the rights and legitimate aspirations of students, and the results must be reported to the Department before August 16.
"The arrangement and rearrangement of students into classes can only be done with the consensus of all students, parents of students in the class and the consensus of all teachers in the school's pedagogical council," the Department of Education and Training emphasized.
Along with that, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires Ngo Quyen - Dong Anh High School to publicly disclose information about the school in accordance with the provisions of Circular 09/2024/TT-BGDDT dated June 3, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training on: financial revenue and expenditure; conditions to ensure the quality of general education activities; plans and results of general education activities.
Previously, public opinion was stirred up because a female 12th grade student of Ngo Quyen High School - Dong Anh received a decision to stop training from the school on the grounds that it did not meet the training needs as requested by the student's parents. The time to stop training is from August 10, 2024.
The female student's father said that on August 7, he was authorized by most of the parents in the class to work with the school principal about organizing a high-quality class because the school had previously only given a general response.
He only asked for more specific information about tuition increases and details of how classes are organized. However, during the meeting, the principal repeatedly emphasized that if any parent found the environment unsuitable, they should transfer their child to another school.
Two days later (August 10), he received a decision from his daughter's homeroom teacher to stop training because the school did not have the conditions to meet the training needs requested by the parents.
The girl’s family has withdrawn the application to transfer her to another private school. The parents believe that the school’s actions are anti-educational and affect the daughter’s psychology and honor.
