Dragon dance part

The 2025 Ban Phu Citadel Festival is organized in two parts: the ceremony and the festival. The opening of the festival is performances imbued with traditional cultural identity such as: Dragon dance, festival drum performance. The ceremony takes place with sacred rituals including: palanquin procession, incense offering, reading of congratulatory messages and the "Remembering the merits of General Hoang Cong Chat" ceremony.

The festival includes cultural and artistic activities, sports competitions, traditional folk games, etc.

The epic performance of Hoang Cong Chat is performed by Hanoi Cheo Theater.

Ban Phu Citadel Festival is an annual activity held on the 24th and 25th of the second lunar month every year, to commemorate the merits of the leader General Hoang Cong Chat, General Lo Ngai, Lo Khanh and the insurgents. The festival is also one of the practical activities to celebrate the 271st anniversary of the victory of Hoang Cong Chat's insurgents in liberating Muong Thanh (1954 - 2025); offering incense to commemorate the 256th anniversary of the death of General Hoang Cong Chat (1769 - 2025) and to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025).

General Hoang Cong Chat is played by an actor from Hanoi Cheo Theater.
