US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during his visit to Kiev, discussed with the Ukrainian government the possibility of using long-range missiles to attack Russian territory.
Mr. Blinken promised that he would report to US President Joe Biden on the agreement between the parties in Kiev.
“We discussed the possibility of striking Russian territory with long-range weapons as well as a number of other issues. As I said at the beginning, I will continue these discussions in Washington to report to the President what we have agreed on,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced.
According to The Guardian, a risky decision may have been made for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to use Western missiles to strike deep into Russia. Because of this, US Secretary of State and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy met with Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky on September 11. As the publication points out, Kiev may be allowed to use Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles in offensive operations against Russian territory.

In addition, Mr. Blinken also hinted that the White House would also lift restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range weapons.
Information surrounding the US Secretary of State's visit to Ukraine
The Ukrainian President's Office informed that leader Zelensky and the US Secretary of State have not made any decisions on using US long-range weapons to attack Russian territory.
This was clearly demonstrated in Mr. Blinken's speech in Kyiv, when he only announced the allocation of a new aid package worth more than 700 million USD to Ukraine.
Limiting the use of US weapons against Russia has emerged as one of Secretary of State Blinken’s most pressing issues, ABC News reported. Ukrainian President Zelensky provided a detailed plan for how the AFU intends to use the missiles and a list of possible targets. Blinken confirmed that he discussed the issue with the Ukrainian leader, but noted that they also touched on “a number of other issues.”
Russia warns US about risk of lifting restrictions on territorial attacks
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned that Washington's decision to lift restrictions on attacking Russia would pose additional risks to the United States itself.
“This is an element of psychological warfare. It is part of hybrid warfare,” Sergey Ryabkov said.
According to the diplomat, the purpose of such statements is to "threaten" Russia and to change Moscow's goals. Mr. Ryabkov advised the US to avoid actions that could lead to an escalation of tensions. He noted that this would also benefit US security.
Kremlin press spokesman Dmitry Peskov assured that Moscow's reaction to Washington's permission to strike deep into Russian territory was appropriate.
“You don’t need to expect any response anywhere. A special military operation is the answer to all these actions,” the Russian president’s press secretary said.
Mr. Peskov emphasized that any such decision by the West becomes a confirmation of the legitimacy and necessity of Russia's launching of special military operations in Ukraine.
Russia counterattacks with all its might in the Kursk battlefield
The Russian military has recaptured about 10 villages in counterattacks in Kursk in recent days, Military Summary reported. The counterattacks are continuing.
War correspondent Evgeniy Lisitsyn said that Russia organized 8 shock troops to attack simultaneously from many directions, causing the enemy to panic and defend, and in the end, they were either destroyed or had to flee.
There are reports of further counterattacks in the direction of Sudzha, but there is currently no information to confirm this. The 103rd AFU Brigade responsible for the defense near Sudzha is being defeated. Russia is stretching the danger of encirclement around the town of Glushkova.
According to the latest statistics, Russia has regained about 145 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region.
Meanwhile, on the Donetsk battlefield, the Russian army took another step forward in Toretsk when it took control of a gas station in the city center.
The offensive is also continuing in the direction of Pokrovsk. The fiercest fighting is taking place in the village of Ukrainsk to the south and east. Russian units are creating a new “potato” there.
Russia occupies most of Ukrainsk village
Readovka channel reported that in the Kurakhovsky direction, the Russian army continued to attack the village of Ukrainsk and achieved great success. From the direction of the secondary school No. 13, Russian soldiers advanced to Bogdan Khmelnitsky Street and continued to maneuver to develop the attack on the eastern suburb of Lesovka.
The Russian army is also advancing north of the town, after crossing the railway, they are approaching the Selidovo-Tsukurino highway and are less than 2km away from cutting off this vital artery. The AFU will not be able to move safely along the highway, which will affect the battles in both the Ukrainsk and Selidovo settlements.
