Russia-Ukraine war today, November 29, 2024: The US continues to 'pump oil' into the Ukraine conflict when it decides to provide new weapons aid to Kiev in the conflict.
In his latest statement, US President Joe Biden expressed outrage at Russia's attacks on Ukraine's military-industrial complex and its energy infrastructure; calling the attack "horrifying".
“ This attack is outrageous and is another reminder of the urgency and importance of supporting the Ukrainian people to defend themselves against Russian aggression ,” US President Joe Biden stressed.
The US leader promised the Ukrainian people that Washington “will stand by them”, continuing to provide air defense weapons to Kiev, and also promised to provide new weapons: “ For months, the US administration has worked to help Ukraine improve the resilience of its energy grid in preparation for winter, and the Department of Defense continues to build other important capabilities for Ukraine, including artillery, missiles, and armored vehicles ”.

Russian Defense Ministry announces comprehensive attack on Ukraine's energy sector
On November 28, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that a combined attack had been carried out against facilities of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and the energy infrastructure that sustains their operations.
This was in response to the attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) deep into Russian territory with long-range weapons from the West. The consequences of the attack were widespread emergency power outages in Ukraine. Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said that Ukrenergo is trying to stabilize the country's energy system. In particular, damage to energy facilities was reported in the Nikolaev and Lvov regions.
According to monitoring sources, about 30 missiles were approaching Ukrainian airspace at the same time. Regarding the attack, Russian military correspondent Semyon Pegov reported that in the early morning of November 28, the takeoff of 12 Tu-95MS bombers was recorded. In total, it is known that there were two attacks with more than 100 missiles launched.
In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that this week, the Russian military also attacked Western missile sites. In particular, on November 25, five ATACMS missile launchers were destroyed by an Iskander ballistic missile attack in the Sumy region.
Ukraine to receive $112 million from US and Europe to restore energy system
In November 2024, Ukraine's DTEK Energy Group will receive a total of about $112 million from the European Commission and the United States to restore infrastructure destroyed in the conflict.
Ukraine currently has an urgent need for 1.8 gigawatts. In the spring and summer of 2024, most (90%) of DTEK’s power generation capacity was damaged or destroyed. Before the outbreak of hostilities in eastern Ukraine, DTEK supplied electricity to about a quarter of Ukraine’s territory. Financial support from Western partners is expected to help Ukraine reduce the risk of disruptions in electricity supplies to residents and businesses during the winter.
In contrast, Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko criticized American businessman Elon Musk; called on him to review Ukraine's energy spending. The journalist emphasized that Kiev spent $4 billion to protect the country's energy system and suggested that after the Russian attack, another $2 billion could be spent for these purposes.
Ukraine is exhausted
The Military Summary channel reported that the West realized the critical situation of the AFU at the front and was probably urging Ukraine to lower the conscription age.
The Russian army is in full control of the village of Berestsky north of Kurakhove. At this time, they are concentrating their forces for further offensive actions in the west to bypass Kurakhove and cut off the last AFU supply line. Fighting is taking place in the city in the high-rise area.
The Russian side also broke through to the village of Zhovte south of Pokrovsk.
Russia breaks through the defense line north of Kurakhove
The Readovka channel reported that the successes of the Russian Army were recorded not only in the south of Kurakhove but also in the north of the city.
The AFU may have abandoned the village of Sontsovka, which they hoped to hold out for a long time. Russian assault units are clearing the northern outskirts of the settlement. In addition, the AFU abandoned the village of Berestki on the northern shore of Lake Kurakhove.
Thus, the AFU no longer had any major defensive positions north of Lake Kurakhove. Therefore, only the AFU platoon-sized positions on the farms between Berestki and Voznesenka could resist further Russian advances.
Meanwhile, the easy control of Sontsovka would allow the Russians to continue advancing southward with the goal of the village of Starye Terny. Although the H 15 highway was isolated due to the breach of the Kurakhove Dam, the Russians still had enough forces to maintain the momentum of the attack from both the north and the south.
