In Donetsk, fighting has focused near the city of Bakhmut. Kiev forces have made some gains in the area around the nearby village of Kleshevka. However, the Ukrainian military has failed to capture any significant positions. New footage of the fighting in the area has been released, showing several Ukrainian armored vehicles destroyed on one of the main roads leading to Bakhmut.
In addition, Kiev forces also tried to advance closer to the towns of Mariinka and Adeevka. Fighting was reported near the towns of Gorlovka, Toretsk and New York.
Meanwhile in the Zaphorohey region, Russian troops clashed with Kiev forces near the town of Nesteryanka and several other places.
In the Kherson region, clashes continued near the Antonovsky bridge, where Kiev forces made further efforts to establish a stronghold on the left bank of the Dnieper River.
The Russian Zapad group of forces reported that it had carried out nine attacks on the concentration of manpower and equipment of the Kiev forces in the direction of Kupyansk. The group's artillery also thwarted two attempts by Ukrainian units to turn the situation around near the villages of Sinkovka and Kamenka.
In addition, Kiev forces twice attempted to attack Russian positions near the Novoselovskoe settlement. Artillery fire forced the attackers to retreat. Ukrainian losses amounted to a platoon and one US-made M113 armored vehicle. Six Ukrainian servicemen were taken prisoner.
A new video released by RIA Novosti shows the Lancet drone carrying out three attacks on artillery tractors.
Meanwhile, photos taken in southern Russia show a series of newly upgraded tanks moving towards the area of a special military operation.
Kiev forces launched their so-called spring counteroffensive nearly a month ago. Despite heavy casualties and hard work, their successes were limited to a few small villages located kilometers from the first line of defense of the Russian army.
