Kampong Speu deputy governor Tith Vuthy was arrested along with two other accomplices on charges of fraudulently granting mining licenses to a Chinese investor.

The Khmer Times reported on March 10 that the Cambodian Anti-Corruption Unit has just arrested Mr. Tith Vuthy, Deputy Governor of Kampong Speu Province, and two other accomplices involved in a fraud case involving a Chinese investor of 400,000 USD (10.2 billion VND).
Accordingly, on March 9, the Kampong Speu Provincial Court issued a decision to arrest and prosecute the three defendants in the mining license fraud case. Mr. Tith Vuthy was born on January 7, 1969.
The two remaining defendants are Mr. Heav Khon (45 years old), also known as Tong, and Mr. Named Moeng Saroeun (44 years old), also known as Ung Winchai.
The two defendants were arrested on charges of abuse of power, forgery, use of forged letters, forgery of public documents and use of forged public documents, as stipulated in the Penal Code and the Anti-Corruption Law.
The acts of the two defendants were carried out in the provinces of Kampong Speu, Pailin, Battambang, Stung Treng and Preah Vihear in 2023.
