On the evening of October 6, the 2023 Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival with the theme "Returning to the mountains and rivers" opened with a special art program in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province.
The opening night of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival 2023 took place with many spectacular performances, sound and light, and the participation of a large number of delegates, tourists and local people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Mr. Trinh Truong Huy, Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, said that with its majestic beauty, the national scenic spot Ban Gioc waterfall has been honored by news agencies and newspapers around the world as the fourth largest waterfall in the world, among waterfalls located on the border between countries; the largest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia; one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world; one of the 10 most magnificent waterfalls in the world; top 7 most majestic waterfalls in the world; top 7 natural wonders in Asia.
Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival is an annual event held to introduce and promote the tourism potential, land and people of Cao Bang, thereby introducing and promoting the national scenic spot of Ban Gioc Waterfall to domestic and international tourists and friends.
Following the success of previous festival seasons, satisfying the expectations of local people and tourists from near and far, the 2023 Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival is held under new conditions and opportunities when Vietnam and China held a pilot operation ceremony for tourists to travel between the Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) - Detian (China) landscape area.
In recent years, the successful organization of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival has created a strong ripple effect, affirming the potential and strengths of Cao Bang tourism, and initially forming a brand.
The Festival theme chosen each year clearly reflects the message and meaning of the event.
In 2023, the theme "Returning to the Land of Mountains and Rivers" is an invitation for domestic and international tourists to Cao Bang to enjoy the beauty of the fairyland and experience the indigenous cultural values in the fairyland.
Within the framework of this year's festival, there are new activities, organized for the first time such as: experiencing the chestnut garden in Ban Khay hamlet; the program "Then singing - Tinh lute with the participation of 1,000 people" with the theme "Origin and Identity of Then Tinh Cao Bang"...
The Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee also affirmed that the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival is a bridge for meeting and exchanging between regions, enriching and deepening the traditional cultural values of the province. This is also an opportunity to encourage and motivate people to enthusiastically compete in labor production, economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, contributing to the completion of local socio-economic development goals.
The success of the festival will contribute to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national security and defense, attracting investment, strongly developing tourism, contributing to the successful implementation of the strategic breakthrough task on sustainable tourism and service development in the Resolution of the 19th Cao Bang Provincial Party Congress.
