Over the years, Muong Luan Boarding Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Dien Bien Dong District (Dien Bien) has always been a place to nurture and foster dreams for poor students in the highlands.
During our work transfer to a poor commune in a poor district, we had the opportunity to visit Muong Luan Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, which the local ethnic people always call with a rather affectionate and friendly name, "The place that gives wings to dreams for students in disadvantaged areas".

Nestled in the mountains, quite different from the thoughts and imaginations about the conditions of a school in a poor commune, Muong Luan Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has been invested in quite spaciously and solidly by the Party and the State. The schoolyard is decorated and planned by teachers and students to be quite eye-catching, friendly and close to nature, bearing the mark of a pedagogical environment.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole school has 21 classes with a total of 605 students, of which 232 are primary school students and 373 are secondary school students.

Teacher Ho Cong Nam, Principal of the school said: To improve the quality of teaching and learning, every year, Muong Luan Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has proactively developed a plan to develop students' capacity, in accordance with the actual situation of the school through increasing practical activities to apply learned knowledge into practice, focusing on moral education, life values, training life skills, and social understanding for students.
“In teaching, it is necessary to clearly identify the focus of the lesson and the content of the program, avoid the situation of teaching indiscriminately causing burden to students, especially pay attention to helping students who are weak in learning, and focus on questions of a classification nature. For weak students, the question type is easier, there should be open-ended questions suitable to their ability, for good students, there should be questions that involve thinking and brainstorming, on the other hand, focus on forming students' learning methods”, Mr. Ho Cong Nam shared.

Thanks to good compliance with the Education Plan, enhanced innovation in teaching and learning methods, and close coordination with the Parents' Association, the quality of education in all grades continues to improve. The percentage of students completing all subjects well is over 98%; in terms of training, the whole school has no students with poor moral qualities.
In the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, the school had 71/81 students passing the entrance exam to high schools in the whole province, including (4 students passing the provincial ethnic minority school, 20 students passing the district ethnic minority school and 47 students passing the other high schools).

The achievements of teachers and students of Muong Luan Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in recent years have created trust for the Party Committee, government, parents and students here.
