This is the content organized by the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center on the afternoon of May 8 at Ma Lam Rice Seed Farm, Ham Thuan Bac. Participating in the demonstration were a number of departments, offices, units, cooperatives, and rice farmers in the district.
The provincial Agricultural Extension Center said that this is one of the contents to implement the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on Developing high-quality commercial rice production areas in the province by 2025. This includes building demonstration models of rice production according to VietGAP standards or equivalent, demonstrating the application of some new high-quality rice varieties.

At the demonstration, Dai Nong Co., Ltd. (a unit that signed a cooperation agreement with the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center) demonstrated mechanization in rice production, including the ST 10V seeder and the Drone agricultural unmanned aircraft, on an area of 4 sao of rice of Ma Lam Rice Seed Farm.

According to the demonstration unit, conventional rice sowing techniques consume a lot of seeds, up to more than 100 kg/ha. In addition, labor costs are very high but efficiency is low because dense sowing is susceptible to pests and diseases, lodging, and low productivity and quality. Meanwhile, machine sowing requires less labor and high sowing efficiency. Rice seeds are sown evenly and in sufficient quantity, so the need for replanting is limited. In addition, drainage ditches between rows create moisture for seed germination. Cluster sowing creates clear density and distance, so post-sowing care such as weeding and fertilizing is easier. Experiments show that rice yield from machine sowing is higher than that of traditional sowing techniques because the seeds do not drift, the rice has fewer pests and does not lodging, etc. In particular, drones used in spraying help people protect their health and increase economic efficiency.

It is known that the province currently has over 120,300 machines serving production and post-harvest services. In 2024, the signing of a cooperation agreement on agricultural mechanization between the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center and Dai Nong Co Gioi Company Limited has agreed to implement the mechanization of agricultural machinery, develop mechanization technology to create effective and cost-saving solutions for farmers.…
