This event was organized by the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center on the afternoon of May 8th at the Ma Lam Rice Seed Farm in Ham Thuan Bac District. Participants included representatives from various departments, units, cooperatives, and rice farmers from the district.
According to the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, this is one of the contents aimed at implementing the Provincial People's Committee's plan on developing high-quality commercial rice production areas in the province by 2025. This includes building demonstration models for rice production according to VietGAP standards or equivalent, and demonstrating the application of some new high-quality rice varieties.

At the demonstration, Dai Nong Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. (a company that signed a cooperation agreement with the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center) showcased mechanization in rice production, including the ST 10V rice planter and the Drone agricultural drone, on 4 sao (approximately 0.4 hectares) of rice fields at the Ma Lam Rice Seed Farm.

According to the demonstration unit, conventional rice sowing techniques consume a large amount of seeds, up to more than 100 kg/ha. In addition, labor costs are very high, but efficiency is low because dense sowing makes the rice susceptible to pests and diseases, lodging, and results in low yield and quality. Meanwhile, machine sowing requires less labor and has high sowing efficiency. The rice seeds are sown evenly and in sufficient quantities, reducing the need for replanting. Furthermore, drainage furrows between rows provide moisture for seed germination. Cluster sowing creates clear density and spacing, making post-sown care such as weeding and fertilizing easier. Experiments show that rice yields from machine sowing are higher than those from traditional techniques because the seeds are not washed away, the rice is less susceptible to pests and diseases, and it does not lodge. Furthermore, the use of drones for spraying pesticides helps farmers protect their health and increase economic efficiency.
Demonstration of machine sowing.
It is known that the province currently has over 120,300 machines used in production and post-harvest services. In 2024, the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of agricultural production mechanization between the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center and Dai Nong Co Gioi Co., Ltd. agreed on the implementation of agricultural machinery mechanization and the development of mechanization technology to create effective and cost-saving solutions for farmers.
