Within the framework of the 8th Conference of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term XII, which took place on the morning of September 24 in Hanoi, delegates discussed and gave opinions on many important orientations related to the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement nationwide in the coming time.
Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, said: At the 7th Conference of the 12th tenure, the Standing Committee of the Central Youth Union discussed and basically agreed on the working theme for 2025, "Vietnamese youth are proud and firmly believe in the Party" associated with the celebration of major holidays and important events in 2025.

On that basis, the Central Secretariat of the Youth Union has developed and supplemented solutions closely following the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Youth Union Congress, especially the implementation of the annual work theme, the list of 54 major activities in 2025 and the set of criteria for evaluating the work of the Youth Union and the provincial youth movement in 2025. According to the draft Program of the Youth Union and the youth movement in 2025, Youth Union chapters at all levels across the country will strive to achieve 12 key targets. Notably, it is necessary to attract 10 million youth union members to participate in volunteer activities implemented by the Youth Union and the Association; 60% of youth have access to digital capacity building activities of the Youth Union and the Association; youth union members and youth participate in planting 20 million new trees; support 3 trillion VND for youth to borrow capital to start a business; introduce jobs to 600,000 youth; Accompanying 600,000 children in difficult circumstances; introducing to the Party 200,000 outstanding union members.

Regarding the work of building the Youth Union, expanding the solidarity front, and gathering young people, the draft focuses on organizing a vote of confidence for leadership and management positions in the Youth Union; effectively implementing the work of planning, arranging, and rotating cadres in the Youth Union system; advising Party committees at all levels on rotating over-age Youth Union cadres according to the Youth Union Cadre Regulations.

In addition, the draft also emphasizes the recruitment of new members and the management of members, especially the implementation of electronic membership cards and electronic membership books; building, expanding and developing effective models in uniting and gathering Vietnamese youth abroad; reviewing, nurturing and promoting outstanding youth of ethnic groups, dignitaries, officials and outstanding young monks and nuns.
