Truong Sa Island infirmary rescues fishermen in distress at sea

NDO - According to information from the commander of Truong Sa island, by the evening of March 10, fisherman Huynh Con's health had stabilized.

Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on March 10, fisherman Huynh Con, born in 1982, from Thanh Hai, Ninh Hai, Ninh Thuan, a crew member of fishing boat NT 90963TS, was stabbed in the right leg by a Mao Tien fish while fishing about 7 nautical miles from Truong Sa island.

Patient Huynh Con was taken to Truong Sa island with a painful, swollen, red right foot and difficulty walking.

Through examination, doctors diagnosed the patient with a poisonous sea animal sting in the foot and conducted blood, biological, pain relief, anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling and anti-allergy tests.

Medical staff at Truong Sa infirmary continue to monitor the patient's health condition.

The lionfish, scientific name Pterois volitans, is a species of extremely poisonous spiny fish.
