Quang Tri province won 1 second prize and 3 consolation prizes at the 17th National Technical Innovation Award.

Tonight, April 23, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Creativity (VIFOTEC) held the award ceremony for the 17th National Technical Creativity Competition. Quang Tri province had 4 winning projects, including one Second Prize and 3 Consolation Prizes.

After two years of implementation, the Organizing Committee of the 17th National Technical Innovation Contest (2022 - 2023) has received 587 solutions to participate in the contest. The contest solutions are solutions that have won prizes from provincial, city, ministry and industry level contests nationwide.

Specifically: Information technology, electronics, telecommunications (90 solutions); Automation, construction, transportation (111 solutions); Materials, chemicals, energy (67 solutions); Agriculture, forestry, fishery and environment (115 solutions); Medicine and pharmacy (77 solutions); Education and training (127 solutions).

The Organizing Committee selected 84 solutions to award prizes, including 6 first prizes, 12 second prizes, 24 third prizes and 42 consolation prizes. The creative solutions that won the prizes are widely applied in production and life, solving practical requirements, bringing high economic and social efficiency.

On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded 41 Creative Labor Certificates and the Central Youth Union awarded 3 Certificates of Merit and 13 Creative Youth Badges to the authors who won First, Second and Third prizes.

Quang Tri province selected 6 topics and solutions to submit to the national competition. Of which, the topic "Research and application of artificial intelligence to detect risks of power grid safety from images/videos collected by DRONE/UAV from flight missions" by the group of authors Phan Van Vinh, Nguyen Van Tai, Le Cong Hieu, Le Van Minh, Nguyen Xuan Thuy (Quang Tri Electricity Company) won second prize.

Topics: Quang Tri cultural heritage app supporting smart tourism development by author Phan Tuan Anh, project manager (Department of Science and Technology); Automatically resetting the IP cassette image receiver after each shooting position of the mammography system by the group of authors Nguyen Hoai Nam, Le Anh Thu, Provincial General Hospital.

Research and application of information technology software in forestry such as QGIS, Mapinfo, Googearth to interpret satellite images to detect early changes in the status of forests and forestry land in the field, serving forest management and protection in Quang Tri province by the group of authors Nguyen Minh Dien, Tran Hiep, Van Ngoc Thang, Bui Quang Linh, Bui Quang Duan, Nguyen Thi Dieu Linh (Provincial Forest Protection Department) won the Encouragement Prize.

Established in 1989, under the auspices of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the National Technical Innovation Competition is held every two years.

The contest aims to promote and spread the creative labor movement of the masses, create new developments in science and technology and contribute to economic development and national construction.
