Implementing the Management Regulations of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area

On the afternoon of March 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) held a meeting to implement the Provincial People's Committee's Decision on the management regulations of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area. Comrade Sam Viet An, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the DTC chaired. Attending were leaders of a number of departments, branches, armed forces, customs; Dam Thuy commune (Trung Khanh).

The meeting announced Decision No. 248/QD-UBND dated February 26, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on promulgating the regulations on the management of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area in Cao Bang province. The regulations provide detailed regulations on the management, protection, exploitation and promotion of tourism resource values. Including: management, protection, survey, investment research, construction, cultural organization, festivals, entertainment, film making, advertising, scientific research, international cooperation. Applicable to state agencies, organizations, and individuals at home and abroad with activities related to Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area.

The Regulation consists of 5 chapters and 22 articles, including general provisions, principles of protecting tourist landscapes, managing socio-economic activities in the area, responsibilities of departments, branches and local authorities, and regulations on rewards, handling of violations and enforcement. In particular, focusing on specific provisions on protecting tourist landscapes, managing socio-economic activities in tourist areas; responsibilities of departments, branches, People's Committees at all levels in managing tourist areas...

At the meeting, delegates discussed a number of difficulties and obstacles in the management and exploitation of tourism in the area, especially issues related to planning, infrastructure investment, environmental protection, security and order, and control of service business activities. Some opinions proposed to strengthen coordination between sectors, local authorities and related units to effectively implement the contents of the regulations. The promulgation of the Management Regulations aims to create a tight legal corridor, contributing to the sustainable development of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area, preserving natural values and improving the efficiency of tourism exploitation.

Concluding the meeting, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Sam Viet An emphasized that the implementation of the Regulations on the management of Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourist Area is of great significance in protecting and promoting heritage values and developing sustainable tourism. He requested relevant units to step up inspection and supervision, promptly remove difficulties, and continue to coordinate to perfect the management mechanism, improve service quality, and build Ban Gioc Waterfall into an attractive tourist destination, contributing to the development of the local socio-economy.
