On the morning of May 19, the Ministry of Construction held an online conference to deploy the Project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021 - 2030. Immediately after the Prime Minister approved the Project on Investment in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income earners and industrial park workers in the 2021-2030 period, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with ministries and branches to focus on implementing the project, from proposing regulations on beneficiaries and conditions to preferential credit policy packages for businesses. To date, 307 social housing projects in urban areas have been completed nationwide, with a construction scale of over 157,000 units and a total area of nearly 8 million ^m2 . Of which, 126 projects are under the social housing development program for industrial park workers and 181 projects are under the social housing development program for low-income people in urban areas.

To successfully achieve the goal of completing about 1,062,200 apartments in localities by 2030, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi suggested: Ministries and branches continue to coordinate and focus on amending social housing policies and mechanisms. At the same time, People's Committees of provinces and cities must develop and approve specific implementation plans for investment in social projects for each year and each phase; plan and arrange social housing projects in suitable locations; balance and allocate local budgets to encourage and call on economic sectors to participate in investing in social housing development within the locality...

At the conference, representatives of relevant ministries and branches provided guidance and reported on implementation solutions for the VND 120,000 billion support package for social housing loans according to Resolution 33/NQ-CP of the Government; preferential tax policies and medium-term public investment plans for 2021-2025 and 2026-2030 to implement social housing policies; planning, land fund arrangement and land use fee exemption policies for social housing projects...
