On the afternoon of December 31, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam, Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity (TNLPTC) and Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity (TNLPTC) chaired a national online conference to review the work of the Party's internal affairs sector and the activities of the provincial-level steering committees on anti-corruption, wastefulness, and negativity in 2024, and directions and tasks for 2025.

In 2024, the Party's internal affairs sector and provincial steering committees for the prevention and control of corruption have made efforts to quite comprehensively complete the tasks set out in the work program. Notably, General Secretary To Lam met and worked with leaders of central internal affairs agencies to disseminate a number of new policies and viewpoints on the prevention and control of corruption, building a team of "solid - sharp - effective" internal affairs agency cadres (firm in law, sharp in professional skills and winning people's hearts); completed the development and submitted to the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Steering Committee 10 major projects on internal affairs, prevention and control of corruption and judicial reform; promptly advised on amending and supplementing the functions and tasks of the Central Steering Committee and provincial steering committees to direct the work of preventing and combating waste - making waste prevention and control equivalent to the prevention and control of corruption and negativity. The Party's internal affairs sector and provincial steering committees for the prevention and control of corruption have advised and organized well more than 600 sessions and meetings of the provincial steering committee for the prevention and control of corruption; coordinated in advising and directing the handling of many complicated corruption and negative cases, in accordance with the viewpoint of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions", both strict and humane, in accordance with the provisions of the law; advised and organized more than 1,000 meetings and dialogues between citizens and provincial and municipal party secretaries; received and handled nearly 60,000 petitions, letters of reflection, complaints and denunciations; and advised and directed the handling of more than 200 mass and complicated petitions, contributing to maintaining political stability and social order and safety. The Central Internal Affairs Committee has revised and supplemented its functions, tasks, and organizational structure. The Party's internal affairs sector and steering committees for the prevention and control of human trafficking at all levels have completed reviewing and streamlining their organizational structure.

In 2025, the Party's internal affairs sector and provincial steering committees for the prevention and control of corruption will focus on building and effectively implementing the annual work program; researching and developing projects according to the work program assigned by the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the provincial and municipal Party Committees. Advise and direct drastic and comprehensive implementation, creating new and breakthrough changes in the work of preventing and combating waste in the whole society. Focus on advising and directing the inspection, investigation, and final handling of complicated corruption, waste, and negativity cases and incidents that are of public concern. Advise and direct the effective implementation of regulations on power control; citizen reception, handling of complaints, denunciations, reflections, and recommendations, in order to ensure security and order for party congresses at all levels.

In their discussions at the conference, delegates at the connecting points focused on analyzing and clarifying the achieved results, proposing tasks and solutions to contribute to the effective implementation of the tasks of the Party's internal affairs sector and provincial steering committees for the prevention and control of TNLPTC in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, General Secretary To Lam, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, highly appreciated and congratulated the results achieved by the Party's internal affairs sector and the activities of provincial steering committees for prevention and control of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in 2024.

He emphasized: 2025 is a year of special significance contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of the entire term according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and many other important tasks such as arranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus; organizing party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress. Faced with the heavy requirements and tasks, the Party's internal affairs sector and provincial steering committees for the prevention and control of corruption need to continue to make efforts, have high determination, advise and direct the further promotion of internal affairs, prevention and control of corruption and judicial reform. Focus on advising and directing drastic and comprehensive implementation, creating new changes and breakthroughs in the work of preventing and combating waste in the whole society. Advise and direct the inspection, investigation, and final handling of serious and complicated corruption cases and incidents that are of public concern; Advise on the effective implementation of regulations on power control, improve the effectiveness of solutions to prevent corruption. The Party's internal affairs sector and provincial steering committees for preventing and combating corruption proactively advise on and implement corruption prevention and combat in the implementation of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus, management and use of assets of agencies and organizations after restructuring and streamlining. Promote administrative reform, digital transformation, publicity, transparency, control of assets, income, and non-cash payments. Continue to consolidate and perfect the apparatus, build a team of Party internal affairs cadres who are truly "solid - sharp - effective", contributing to bringing the country into a new era - the era of national advancement.
