At the press conference to announce the awards of the "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024" Photo and Video Contest held on the morning of December 5, a representative of the Contest Organizing Committee informed: At 8:00 p.m. on December 11, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Information and Communications will coordinate with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to organize the opening ceremony of the exhibition and announce the awards of the "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024" Photo and Video Contest. The event will be broadcast live on VTV4 Foreign Television Channel of Vietnam Television, livestreamed on VTV Digital channel and on the Vietnam Image Promotion Platform (https://vietnam.vn). Held for the second time, the Contest is a vivid demonstration of the deep concern and consistent policy of our Party and State towards the work of caring for the material and spiritual life of the people, taking the people as the center, in the spirit of "leaving no one behind" and creating all favorable conditions for people to participate, contribute, promote their capacity and intelligence in the cause of building, developing, protecting the Fatherland and international integration of the country. At the same time, the Contest also creates opportunities for people nationwide, overseas Vietnamese and international friends to express their love for their homeland and country and their enthusiasm in creating photos and videos to promote the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world, arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy nation; promoting cultural values and the strength of the Vietnamese people in the new era. After nearly 7 months of launching, from March 20, 2024 to the deadline for receiving works on October 15, 2024, the Contest has attracted 6,863 authors with 10,327 photo and video works, including 9,657 photo works and 670 video works. Among the participating authors, there are 581 international authors, 265 Vietnamese authors abroad with nearly 1,000 works and more than 50% of the authors have participated in the Contest in 2023. The Jury and Organizing Committee have selected 60 best videos and 150 best photos to display at the exhibition, of which 34 best works were awarded prizes. Each work is an interesting story, an impressive moment or a meaningful message about love for the homeland, country, with pride, with love and aspiration for a prosperous and happy life across the S-shaped strip of land of Vietnam. The total value of the awards for both photo and video categories is up to nearly 400 million VND, including: 02 Gold Medals; 04 Silver Medals; 06 Bronze Medals and 20 Consolation Prizes. Prize value: Gold Medal 70 million VND; Silver Medal 20 million VND; Bronze Medal 10 million VND; Consolation Prize 5 million VND and other secondary prizes. After the Award Ceremony, the selected works will continue to be exhibited domestically and internationally, serving the communication and promotion of Vietnam's achievements in ensuring human rights in 2025./.
