Vehicle inspection renewal lookup is overloaded, what should vehicle owners do?

VietNamNetVietNamNet04/06/2023

On the afternoon of June 4, the Vietnam Register announced that after just over 1 day of taking effect, Circular 08/2023/TT-BGTVT amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 16/2021/TT-BGTVT dated August 12, 2021 regulating technical safety and environmental protection inspection of road motor vehicles (Circular 08), has attracted a large number of people and vehicle owners' attention.

Specifically, according to statistics from June 3 to 3:00 p.m. on June 4, there were about 5 million visits to look up the extension of inspection of non-commercial vehicles. This number is nearly 3.6 times higher than the number of 1.4 million vehicles subject to automatic extension of inspection cycle.

This situation causes the website of the Vietnam Register to always be congested and inaccessible.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai (Cau Dien, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi) said that his car was in the group that had its automatic inspection cycle extended this time. Although there were still 15 days left until the inspection period expired, as soon as he received the information, he proactively went online according to the instructions to declare and print the Certificate of Validity of the Certificate and Inspection Stamp himself.

"For the past two days, I have been logging in from time to time, but the internet is still spinning and I cannot register. I am not impatient because according to the authorities, all vehicles in the extended group will be issued with electronic signatures by the Registration Department in order of priority for vehicles that are nearing the deadline first. There is no need to rush when the policy has come into effect...", said Mr. Hai.

Faced with this situation, to avoid system overload and congestion, the Vietnam Register recommends that vehicle owners look up and print the Certificate of Validity of the Certificate and Inspection Stamp at the address: https://giahanxcg.vr.org.vn.

On the other hand, the management software system gradually updates in order of priority vehicles due for inspection (within 10 days). Therefore, vehicle owners need to be calm and should only look up when the vehicle is about to expire for inspection.

Currently, the whole country has 2,959,409 passenger cars with up to 9 seats (cars) not used for transportation business, of which 1,392,761 cars are eligible for automatic extension of the validity period stated on the Certificate and Inspection Stamp from June 3, 2023 to June 30, 2024 and 1,566,648 cars are not eligible for extension of the validity period of the Certificate and Inspection Stamp.

Therefore, to ensure identification between these vehicles, it is necessary to have a Certificate of Validity of the Certificate and Inspection Stamp to ensure distinction as well as create favorable conditions to support the authorities in patrolling, controlling, handling violations and vehicle owners when participating in traffic.
