On the morning of April 12, the national preliminary round of Miss Universe Vietnam - Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025 took place in Ho Chi Minh City. However, it is noteworthy that 3 faces that were assessed as potential suddenly withdrew.

Three talented contestants say goodbye to the competition

Nong Thuy Hang, Bui Thi Thanh Thuy, and Dang Thanh Ngan only submitted their applications online and did not take the exam in person.

Nong Thuy Hang - Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2022 and 2nd Runner-up Miss International Friendship 2023 - withdrew from the contest due to her upcoming marriage. The beauty born in 1999 shared in her letter: "After much thought and consideration, Hang would like to withdraw from the Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025 contest because she is currently entering a completely new phase in her life. Hang is preparing to get married and start her married life."

Bui Thi Thanh Thuy also did not participate in the preliminary round due to personal and work schedules. Thanh Thuy was in the top 15 of Miss Grand Vietnam 2023, the winner of the online Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 contest and was in the top 16 of the same year.

Miss Supranational runner-up Dang Thanh Ngan is also on the list of beauties absent from the preliminary round despite being expected to create surprises at this year's contest.

Preliminary round with challenging new format

Despite the absence of potential candidates, the preliminary round of Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025 was still exciting with a new format. The contestants not only had to go through a physical competition in swimsuits but also had to face a debate - where they had to demonstrate their sharp thinking, courage and individuality.
