FPT successfully deployed the first million-dollar AI project

Starting from the need to digitize the technical drawing extraction process, which was currently performed manually by more than 200 employees, the customer turned to FPT for a technology solution. With the goal of automating most of the workload to save costs and increase accuracy, the customer trusted FPT to advise, design and integrate a comprehensive artificial intelligence solution into the new system.

This confidence stems from the success of the first testing phase (MVP - Minimum Viable Product) in mid-2023, when FPT exceeded expectations with an accuracy of up to 83% - 30% higher than the initial requirement.

After completing the technology demonstration phase in just 4 months, the project will move to phase two from early 2024 and officially complete on March 31, including the warranty period. Throughout the implementation process, the project team maintained an average size of about 35 members per month, with the participation of many experts from core units of FPT Software.

The FPT team in the US is responsible for connecting and supporting customers directly, while the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Application in Quy Nhon (QAI) and engineering teams in Vietnam are in charge of consulting on solutions, developing technology and ensuring implementation quality. The project also marks a breakthrough when simultaneously applying advanced artificial intelligence technologies such as: computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and the most modern techniques today (SOTA - State of the art).

FPT's solution helps customers create a clear competitive advantage: the system can extract the entire drawing instead of having to process each page like existing products on the market. At the same time, the system also links discrete information to provide data at both detailed and overall levels - helping to shorten processing time, reduce costs and expand the application to other processes in the enterprise.

Besides the technology factor, close coordination and synchronization between leaders and the implementation team is an important factor helping the project achieve impressive results.

Mr. Tran Thanh Hung, representative of the implementation team, shared: “From the beginning, FPT identified this as a challenging project in terms of both technology and operations. However, thanks to the team's perseverance and the smooth coordination between the parties, the project was successfully completed and received high praise from the customer. In particular, the customer's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) expressed his desire to visit Vietnam next May to learn more about FPT's implementation capabilities in areas other than artificial intelligence - affirming the trust and expectations that customers have for FPT.”

This is the largest artificial intelligence project in the form of offshore deployment that FPT has ever carried out, marking the journey of continuous efforts, the "Oneteam" spirit and close coordination between FPT and customers.
