Vietnam Post organizes the launching ceremony to develop voluntary social insurance and health insurance, together with Vietnam Social Security to pioneer actions for social security.

The launching ceremony was held directly at the bridge point of Vietnam Post Corporation and online to provincial, city and central post offices nationwide. Attending at the Vietnam Post Corporation's bridge point were comrade Dinh Ngoc Quy, full-time National Assembly delegate at the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Social Affairs; comrade Dao Viet Anh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Social Security; comrade Chu Quang Hao, General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, and representatives of department leaders and staff of the units.

Overview of the launching ceremony

The launching ceremony to develop social insurance and health insurance participants is an annual activity organized by Vietnam Social Security, Social Security of provinces and cities and Vietnam Post to widely spread the position, role and humanistic meaning of social insurance and health insurance policies.

In the context of promoting administrative reform and innovating the organizational model of State agencies, the Vietnam Social Security system from the central to local levels is gradually being adjusted towards streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency. The coordination between Vietnam Post and Vietnam Social Security has been strengthened, becoming increasingly closer and more flexible to ensure the goal of strongly developing the social security network. The effectiveness of the social insurance and health insurance policies is not only demonstrated through the numbers of participants but also the commitment of the Party, the State, Vietnam Social Security and Vietnam Post to the people, especially the informal labor force, vulnerable people who need long-term social security protection.

With the theme “Connecting new models, together with Vietnam Social Security, pioneering actions for community security”, Vietnam Post and Vietnam Social Security will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in voluntary social insurance and health insurance to have a solid “support”, prevent risks, and ensure a stable life in old age. Thereby, affirming the deep concern of the Party, National Assembly and Government for the cause of social security for all people.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Dao Viet Anh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Social Security, highly appreciated the role of Vietnam Post in developing voluntary social insurance and health insurance participants. Over the years, Vietnam Post, with its system of social insurance and health insurance collection organizations and a network of collaborators covering the whole country, has always accompanied and affirmed its role as one of the "extended arms" of Vietnam Social Security in effectively implementing communication work and mobilizing people to participate in voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance. Vietnam Post is one of the units that has been flexible and proactive in closely coordinating with social security agencies at all levels to deploy forms of communication and mobilizing people to participate in voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance such as: organizing launching ceremonies, customer communication conferences, online communication conferences, direct consultation to individuals, households, etc. Thereby, creating a long-term spillover effect, aiming to rapidly develop and sustainably maintain the number of people participating in social insurance and health insurance, contributing to the Vietnam Social Security to successfully complete the assigned targets and tasks.

General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, Mr. Chu Quang Hao said: By the end of 2024, Vietnam Post has mobilized and developed more than 1.2 million people to participate in voluntary social insurance and more than 17 million people to participate in self-paid health insurance. This is the clearest evidence of the synchronous, effective coordination and great determination of both sectors.

Mr. Chu Quang Hao, General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, committed to accompanying Vietnam Social Security to spread social security policies widely in the community and society.

“When the local social insurance apparatus is streamlined, the role of the “extended arm” of Vietnam Post becomes increasingly important. Vietnam Post not only plays the role of a service organization for collecting social insurance and health insurance premiums, but also a companion with people in accessing the humane social security policies of the Party and State; at the same time, it is a bridge between the social insurance system and the people… I call on all officers and employees of Vietnam Post to promote their sense of responsibility, each person is a “social security ambassador”, actively promoting and mobilizing people to participate in social insurance and health insurance. Each employee develops at least 02 customers participating in voluntary social insurance and 05 customers participating in new health insurance on the first day of the campaign”, Mr. Chu Quang Hao called for determination to complete the goal of developing voluntary social insurance and health insurance participants by 2025.

After the launching ceremony, provincial, municipal and central post offices will simultaneously carry out direct consultation activities in residential areas, neighborhood groups, traditional markets, post offices - commune culture, local cultural houses, etc. Also on the same day, the Talkshow "Social security firmly - Social insurance, health insurance accompanying the people" with the participation of guests who are leaders of agencies and units under the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Vietnam Social Security will take place online at Vietnam Post's connecting points nationwide to discuss, answer questions and provide guidance on social insurance and health insurance policies.
