This achievement is even more impressive when Phi Phong is one of the first two K63 students to graduate from university one semester early compared to the total training time of 4 years, receiving an Excellent degree and being the Valedictorian among 1,156 new bachelors and engineers of K62 who were just awarded their graduation certificates by the University of Water Resources on the morning of April 10.
At the University of Water Resources, it is very rare for a candidate to graduate one semester early, and even become the school's Valedictorian.

Make specific strategies for each semester and subject
Talk to reporters People's Representative Newspaper , Valedictorian of the University of Water Resources Nguyen Phi Phong said: "I received the notice that I became valedictorian just a few days before the graduation ceremony. I was very surprised and happy, and even when I held the certificate in my hand, I still couldn't believe it."
Phong's secret to studying is to always set specific goals and make plans for each semester and each subject. He diligently reads books and documents to accumulate good learning methods, helping himself improve every day. To maintain his scholarship achievements in all semesters, Phong has a strategy and detailed plan on the characteristics and learning methods suitable for each subject.
"A way of studying that I often apply is to focus on listening to lectures in class, then review what I have learned and review the new lesson at home, so that I can understand and quickly grasp the knowledge the next day. If there is any part that I don't understand, I often ask the teacher questions right in class to get answers," Phong said.

In addition, Phong also forms study groups with his classmates to exchange and share knowledge. Phong considers this an effective method, because each person's own learning style and materials will help members supplement and enrich their knowledge.
Phi Phong admitted that he had experienced pressure from having to study many subjects and not having time to review. To overcome that time, he chose to balance and manage his time properly. If he was stressed, Phong would temporarily put his studies aside and participate in other activities to help him relax.
"When I feel more comfortable, I go back and focus on studying. I also maintain a regular sleep routine to stay healthy. I believe that when doing something, just focusing on one thing can achieve the best results," Phong said.
Get a job before graduation
Born into a family of 5 siblings, both parents are farmers, which has instilled in Phi Phong the will to "overcome difficulties and poverty". With 25.4 points in block A00, Phi Phong was admitted to the Software Engineering major, Faculty of Information Technology, University of Water Resources and embarked on a journey to pursue his passion.
The student who cycled dozens of kilometers to school every day, was always a diligent and disciplined student, and after four years, surprised the whole school when he became the valedictorian with a GPA of 3.85/4.0 - in the top 1% of students with the highest scores in the entire course.

In his third year of university, Phong interned at a technology company that specialized in software and website products, and was officially hired before graduating. Here, Phong's main work was in AI, optical character recognition, and object recognition.
"Starting salary is not my top priority. Instead, I appreciate job opportunities that help develop my skills. In the future, I plan to continue focusing on my work and spend time studying to improve my expertise, ready for further advancement," the valedictorian of the University of Water Resources confided.
Becoming a full-time employee, Phong faced a big challenge in balancing study and work. Nearing graduation, he had to focus on working at the company during the day and spend time completing his thesis at night.
"It was an extremely challenging time, but I didn't force myself to work or study. I found inspiration again by participating in extracurricular and community activities," Phong recalled. Despite his busy schedule, the young student still successfully completed his graduation project on generative AI technology to build a chatbot for the Faculty of Information Technology.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Hung, Head of the Faculty of Information Technology, Thuyloi University, commented: "Phong is a student with good professional capacity, honored as an excellent student for many years. His project is highly practical, can be integrated into the website to advise on admissions, answer questions for students. The school and the faculty highly appreciate his achievements and capacity".
Nguyen Phi Phong: "Even though I have finished my studies, for me, the process of learning and self-development never stops."
Talking about future plans, Phi Phong said that in the coming time, he will continue to work and learn new knowledge in the field of IT, improve his expertise and necessary skills to apply in the working environment.
"The title of Valedictorian is not only a source of pride for me but also an important stepping stone for my future career. Even though I have finished my studies, I believe that the process of learning and self-development will never stop," said the Nghe An student.
