On March 13, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City issued a plan to inspect the management of extra teaching and learning in the area.
Specifically, the Department's delegations will inspect Thu Duc City and districts from March 17-31 (1 day for each locality). In particular, the delegations will directly inspect the Department of Education and Training and a number of general education institutions (including 16 high schools and each Department of Education and Training selects 1 primary school, 1 secondary school; Thu Duc City alone selects 2 schools for each level).
The inspection focuses on the direction and management of the Department of Education and Training as well as the implementation at educational institutions of regulations on extra teaching and learning. Through the inspection, the delegation will record the advantages and difficulties and propose solutions to effectively implement Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT, dated December 30, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning.
Circular 29 takes effect from February 14, 2025 with many contents tightening the management of extra teaching and learning activities. Implementing the Circular, the Ministry of Education and Training has established an inspection team to inspect the implementation of regulations on extra teaching and learning in localities nationwide.
According to the plan, the Ministry's delegation will conduct direct inspections in Ho Chi Minh City from March 3-20. Recently, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and districts, People's Committees of wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City have organized inspection teams to organize extra teaching and learning in the area. To thoroughly implement Circular 29, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu requested school principals to propagate and disseminate the content of the Circular to all cadres, teachers and school staff; ensure extra teaching activities are in accordance with regulations, public, transparent, and avoid abuse for personal purposes.
Schools need to improve the quality of formal teaching so that students can learn effectively during class time, limit the need for extra classes; do not force students to attend extra classes in any form; seriously implement, fully and accurately declare data on the extra teaching and learning management system to ensure transparent and effective management. Units monitor and evaluate the implementation of extra teaching and learning; thereby advising and proposing policy adjustments if there are any shortcomings.
The Department of Education and Training Office builds software to manage extra teaching and learning; guides and supervises data entry to ensure complete and accurate updates on the system.
