On the afternoon of June 14, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee led by Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, had a courtesy meeting with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard Party Committee led by Major General Le Quang Dao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

At the reception, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen highly appreciated the efforts and solidarity of the Vietnam Coast Guard in performing its duties and successfully completing the task of protecting security and order in the sea area.
Recalling the time when Ho Chi Minh City had to work hard to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic, on behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Nguyen Van Nen expressed his gratitude for the support and sharing of the military force in general, including the Vietnam Coast Guard, which helped Ho Chi Minh City overcome difficulties in preventing and fighting the epidemic.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is ready to share and support the Vietnam Coast Guard to carry out tasks in the city, thereby tightening the cooperative relationship and supporting each other in development.

Major General Le Quang Dao sincerely thanked the warm welcome and sincere feelings that Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee gave to the working delegation.
Sharing more about the tasks and results that the Vietnam Coast Guard has achieved in recent times, Major General Le Quang Dao hopes to continue receiving support from Ho Chi Minh City so that the Vietnam Coast Guard can complete all assigned tasks in the city.
In 2022 and the first 6 months of 2023, the Vietnam Coast Guard completed many important tasks.
In particular, the Vietnam Coast Guard has effectively deployed the fight against crime, law violations, illegal immigration and drug crimes at sea with 4 peak periods.
Thereby, the entire force detected, arrested and handled 1,286 cases, with 1,648 subjects. Of which, 101 cases were prosecuted, with 108 subjects; 838 administrative violations were handled, with 956 subjects. Coordinated detection, handling, and handover of 110 cases, with 176 subjects. The total amount of administrative fines and auctions paid to the state budget is estimated at over 140 billion VND.
Vietnam Coast Guard also proactively, flexibly and effectively deploys foreign affairs and international cooperation.
