For the first time, the Ho Chi Minh City Outstanding Female Entrepreneur Award was held to honor the contributions of outstanding female entrepreneurs to the socio-economic development of the city and the country.
On the evening of March 22, the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Outstanding Female Entrepreneurs Award Ceremony was held. Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, former President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Ms. Ha Thi Nga, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Women's Union attended the program.
The program is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Business Women Association (Hawee).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that the City's leaders consider the Outstanding Female Entrepreneur Award as one of the City's patriotic emulation activities, a prestigious award to encourage the contributions of female entrepreneurs.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hopes that the City Women's Union and the City Businesswomen Association will continue to research to make the award activities more effective, promptly honoring and spreading the good values of the City's businesswomen in the business community in general. Outstanding businesswomen will continue to strive for success in business and life, continuing to spread the good values of Vietnamese women.
Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, Chairwoman of Hawee, said that the award is a recognition and appreciation of the contributions of female entrepreneurs, encouraging their spirit and creating motivation for them to continue participating in the country's economic development process.
"This year's honoring ceremony takes the theme "When roses turn into diamonds" - meaning that each female entrepreneur in the city is like a beautiful rose, rising with her own courage and talent to shine like a diamond, sparkling in the marketplace, becoming the pride of the business community and the city", Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung shared.

Launched in October 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Outstanding Female Entrepreneur Award has received a lot of attention from the business community in general and female entrepreneurs in particular. After more than 5 months of evaluation and review, the organizing committee has selected 8 winners of Outstanding Female Entrepreneurs and 3 outstanding female entrepreneurs from many different industries and fields in the city.
What they have in common is that in the face of difficulties caused by the global economic recession, female entrepreneurs have always firmly moved forward, steering their businesses through the storms, contributing to the economic development of the city and the country, bringing many positive values to the community.
According to the program organizers, female entrepreneurs play an important role in the business community, and are the core force in promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration of Ho Chi Minh City today. With such roles and tasks, female entrepreneurs have affirmed their position in business development in recent years, making strong contributions to the country's economy, contributing to the city's GRDP growth rate in 2023 reaching 5.81%.
The success and the path to success of the female leaders and the typical faces honored this time have never been easy. Each outstanding female entrepreneur is an impressive story about a glorious journey full of bumps and twists, requiring courage, determination and talent. Their journeys are stories of great inspiration for the young generation who are starting to build businesses, especially women who want to become entrepreneurs.
