Coming to the second Photo and Video Award with the theme "Technology from the heart - Technology with heart" , authors can freely create with images and videos with a maximum duration of 90 seconds (season one has a limit of 60 seconds) to convey stories with more complete content and messages.
This year, the winning works will also be communicated and displayed on a larger scale to reach the public more effectively.
Those are some of the new highlights of this year's season, announced on February 26, at the National News Center, Hanoi.
Honoring the value of technology in life
The award is a practical activity to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; it is a testament to the effective cooperation between Vietnam News Agency and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel).

The award aims to honor the values that technology brings to life; inspire creativity, arouse pride in the breakthrough achievements of Vietnamese technology, contribute to bringing about changes in all fields, create a sustainable foundation for the country to develop prosperously in the new era, towards the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and 40 years of National Renovation.
With the theme “Vietnamese Creativity - The Road to Prosperity”, the authors will tell meaningful and emotional stories through photos and videos recorded in daily life both at home and abroad.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, journalist Vu Viet Trang, Party Secretary and General Director of Vietnam News Agency, said that the Award continues to inspire creativity and pride in breakthrough achievements of technology bearing the Vietnamese brand; realizing the policy of our Party and State on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, creating a solid foundation for the country to develop prosperously in the new era.
The organizers hope that every journalist, photographer, cameraman and all those who are interested, passionate and attached to technology will devote their enthusiasm, time and energy to participate in the contest with works that capture beautiful and impressive moments about the development and application of science and technology in life, telling stories through images about the unlimited passion of the scientific community. Thereby, together we will spread positive and creative messages to the public to encourage the spirit of dedication of the team of people working in science and innovation.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association highly appreciated the significance and influence of the award.
“In addition to traditional communication methods through newspapers, printed newspapers, radio, television and new media, awards such as 'Technology from the Heart' are ways to further spread Resolution 57, as well as the general orientation on the application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation,” Mr. Le Quoc Minh shared.
The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association believes that vivid pictures and inspiring videos will strongly inspire society, especially those directly involved in production and business activities, who dare to boldly apply science and technology, digital transformation and continuous innovation.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh affirmed that the award has aroused the interest of journalists in technology, suggesting the application of technology in journalism.
“Today’s journalists not only need to write good articles and take beautiful photos, but also need to know how to use technology. From using simple devices such as smartphones, cameras, and image editing methods to more complex technologies such as using artificial intelligence to filter data and discover information,” said Mr. Le Quoc Minh.

From his experience in organizing and judging works from season one, journalist Nguyen Thang believes that the authors can reflect on the application of technology in daily life, spreading positivity through vivid images, contributing to helping people better understand the role and practical, great effectiveness that technology brings.
“In fact, in season one, the winning works all reflected quite fully the impact of technology on all aspects of social life, from security, defense to health, culture, education, etc. Regarding the method of presentation, we note that when presenting the Photojournalism genre, you need to have a tight layout and a connection in content between the photos,” journalist Nguyen Thang shared.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Thanh Hai, Head of Brand and Communications Department of Viettel Group, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, suggested the following topics for the works: Technology and production development, helping to increase productivity, product quality, and enhance national competitiveness; Technology and life, helping people live in harmony with nature, bringing a better life; Technology and connection, enhancing exchanges between regions and countries in a world without distance; Technology and digital transformation, recognizing solutions and achievements in national digital transformation, building digital government, digital economy and digital citizens; Technology and cyber security, creating a safe and healthy cyberspace.
“We hope that this year's competition will have a breakthrough development in creativity and spread, to convey better values to the public, closely following the spirit of 'Vietnamese Creativity - The Road to Prosperity'”, said Mr. Vo Thanh Hai.
