Mr. Maduro is expected to have meetings with Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman.
The Venezuelan government said President Maduro's visit is part of a work program to strengthen political, diplomatic and energy alliances. This is President Maduro's third visit to Saudi Arabia as head of state.
Earlier, the Venezuelan leader traveled to Türkiye and attended the inauguration of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Venezuela and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their cooperative and fraternal relations at the end of 2021 during a meeting in Caracas between Venezuela's Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania Capaya Rodríguez and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the Caribbean country Saad Al Saad.
The two countries have maintained bilateral relations since 1952 and have signed cooperation programs in many fields, especially oil.
