Within the framework of the State visit to Mongolia, on the afternoon of October 1, in the capital Ulan Bator, General Secretary and President To Lam received typical economic organizations of Mongolia.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia, the Embassy of Vietnam in Mongolia and relevant agencies of the two countries.

Attending the event, on the Vietnamese side were comrades: Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Bui Thanh Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs; leaders of a number of Vietnamese ministries and branches, and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia.

On the Mongolian side, there were: Deputy Prime Minister Dorjkhand Togmid; Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Munkhtushig Lhanaajav; Executive Director of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Duuren Tumenjargal, Ambassador of Mongolia to Vietnam; representatives of the “Food Revolution Initiative” and leaders of 10 typical Mongolian enterprises in the fields of import and export (food, beverages, household products, consumer goods), energy, minerals, transportation, logistics, tourism, education, labor, agriculture, banking...

At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that Vietnam has now become one of the 40 largest economies in the world, among the top 20 economies with the world's leading trade scale, and ranked 32nd in the top 100 strongest national brand values ​​in the world.

The General Secretary and President expressed that in the 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations (1954-2024), the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia has been constantly consolidated and developed; delegation exchanges and contacts at high and all levels have been maintained regularly; understanding and trust between the two countries have always been consolidated, and cooperation in all fields has been enhanced. In particular, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has made new progress, with two-way trade turnover reaching more than 120 million USD in 2023 and there is still much room for development.

The General Secretary and President highly appreciated the recent organization of many cooperation exchange activities between economic agencies and enterprises of the two countries, thereby contributing to promoting economic cooperation between the two countries to develop commensurate with their potential.

General Secretary and President To Lam stated that in the coming time, Vietnam will focus on promoting internal strength, proactively integrating internationally towards digital economic transformation, green growth, science and technology development, and innovation to integrate deeply and participate more effectively in the global supply chain.

At the same time, promote investment in developing strategic infrastructure, important projects with rapid spillover into the economy to reduce costs, improve competitiveness... accelerate the restructuring process, enhance internal capacity, economic autonomy, continue to improve, create the most favorable investment and business environment for enterprises.

Vietnam aims to become a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030, and a developed, high-income country by 2045.

While Mongolia is focusing on implementing the “New Recovery Policy” and the strategic goals of “Vision 2050,” contributing to enhancing Mongolia’s international role and status, this shows the similarity in goals and cooperation interests between the two countries.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that Vietnam and Mongolia have great potential and opportunities to develop strongly, to join the movement of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the global transformation of the digital economy, green growth with renewable energy, new energy, biotechnology, and information technology. All cooperation is for the increasingly strong and deep connection between the two peoples and countries, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, prosperity, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Speaking at the reception, Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Dorjkhand Togmid expressed his delight at the results of cooperation between the two countries, especially the cooperation orientations during the state visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Mongolia.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the event is a valuable opportunity for Mongolian economic organizations and typical enterprises to share their thoughts and aspirations with Vietnam's senior leaders, thereby finding opportunities to enhance trade and investment cooperation with Vietnam.

At the meeting, representatives of Mongolian economic organizations had important exchanges, shares and proposals to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia; expand trade and investment cooperation in various fields; actively exchange and share information on policies, development potential of each country, opportunities and challenges facing the two countries in the process of cooperation and investment...

At the reception, Vietnamese agencies acknowledged, accepted opinions and responded to a number of proposals from businesses.

Listening to information about production and business activities and proposals to promote cooperation with Vietnam from Mongolian economic organizations, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that the State and Government of Vietnam always welcome and applaud Mongolian businesses to expand cooperation with Vietnam.

Vietnamese ministries and sectors always accompany, are ready to share, and create favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including Mongolian enterprises, to operate effectively, contributing to the socio-economic development of the two countries. The success of Mongolian enterprises is also the success of Vietnam.

General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that the competent agencies of the two sides continue to coordinate closely to facilitate market access for agricultural products, especially livestock farming, minerals, construction works, logistics cooperation, digital transformation, green energy, and clean energy./.
