The 2024 Pho Festival aims to honor the traditional pho profession, and is also an opportunity for tourists and locals to learn about and enjoy the traditional pho flavor associated with the regional culture of the whole country.

On the afternoon of March 15, the 2024 Pho Festival officially opened with the theme Vietnamese Pho Road in Nam Dinh city (Nam Dinh province). The event was organized by the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee in coordination with Nhan Dan newspaper and Masan Consumer Goods Joint Stock Company.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee Tran Le Doai said that the 2024 Pho Festival in Nam Dinh not only brings interesting experiences to people and tourists, helps them understand more about the Pho profession; enjoy delicious bowls of Pho from all over the country converging in Nam Dinh, but also promotes and introduces the land, people and culinary culture of Nam Dinh province.
Through the activities of the event, it contributes to the development of local economy, culture and tourism; thereby enhancing the role and position of artisans, chefs, and suppliers of Pho products in the preservation and promotion of the culinary cultural value of Nam Dinh Pho in particular and Vietnamese Pho in general.

The event contributes to spreading Vietnamese pho to integrate more strongly, bringing the value of Vietnamese cuisine further on the world culinary map. At the same time, the 2024 Pho Festival also aims to honor the traditional pho profession, creating opportunities for tourists and people to learn and enjoy the taste of pho associated with the regional culture of the whole country.
In addition, the series of activities at the Festival also aim to elevate Vietnamese cuisine, making Pho a national brand, associated with domestic and international tourism development. In particular, through the 2024 Pho Festival, the Organizing Committee hopes to move towards compiling a dossier to include Vietnamese Pho in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage and, further, to submit it to UNESCO for recognition.
At the Festival, the Pho Viet Street space gathers more than 50 booths of businesses and brands participating in advertising and promoting the image and brand of Pho Viet. The booths are arranged in separate areas, with connections in ideas and content; divided into 3 areas, including: Pho 3 regions booth, ingredient and spice booth; standard booth.

The highlight of the 2024 Pho Festival is the promotional activities that attract tourists with the theme of Vietnamese Pho Essence . Diners have the opportunity to experience the steps of making traditional pho such as: drying, steaming, slicing pho noodles, learning about and choosing ingredients to make traditional pho broth; enjoying pho prepared in the traditional way.
According to the Organizing Committee, the promotional activity “Vietnamese Pho Flavor” will take place on March 16 with the participation of many famous restaurants in Nam Dinh city and nationwide. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch artisans demonstrate pho cooking secrets and enjoy special bowls of pho with the unique flavors of each restaurant and brand.
In addition, within the framework of the event, the activity "Vietnamese Pho Noodles" will also take place on the last day of the Pho Festival (March 17), to introduce the villages that make pho noodles and the typical pho noodles of each region. Visitors will be able to see artisans processing dry and fresh pho noodles from many localities such as: Ngo pho (Ha Giang), rice noodle pho (Hanoi), cassava pho (Quang Nam), two-bowl pho (Gia Lai), artichoke pho (Da Lat), green banana flour pho (Hue)...

In particular, during the 3 days of the Pho Festival 2024, the organizers will issue a special promotion program of 15,000 - 20,000 bowls of pho for diners in the form of coupons. With each coupon worth 15,000 VND, diners will enjoy 1 bowl of pho at the booths of their choice.
At the end of the 3-day event, the Organizing Committee will donate the money collected from the coupons to the Cerebral Palsy Children's Fund in Nam Dinh province.
Pho Festival 2024 is a good opportunity for Vietnam to introduce to the world its unique cultural and culinary values; contributing to promoting the images and economic and tourism potential of Vietnam in general through investment and trade promotion activities, introducing products of manufacturing enterprises in the food and foodstuff sector.

Dong Son commune, Nam Truc district (Nam Dinh) is considered the "cradle" of the pho cooking profession, making pho famous throughout the country. |
