Archaeological exploration and excavation at Plei Ring relic, Gia Lai province

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Decision No. 536/QD-BVHTTDL allowing Gia Lai Provincial Museum to coordinate with the Center for Archaeology, Southern Institute of Social Sciences to explore and excavate archaeology at Plei Ring relic, H'Bong commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province.

Exploration and excavation time from March 15, 2025 to June 30, 2025, on an area of ​​42m2, specifically: Exploration area: 06m2 (including: 03 holes x 02m2 / 01 hole, from hole TD1 to hole TD3); excavation area: 36m2 (including: 02 holes, specifically H1: 04m x 06m = 24m2, H2: 04m x 03m = 12m2). The person in charge of the exploration and excavation is Mr. Nguyen Quoc Manh, Center for Archaeology, Institute of Social Sciences of Southern Region.

During the period of archaeological exploration and excavation, the licensed agency must pay attention to protecting the stratigraphy of the relic; is responsible for disseminating information to the People about the protection of local cultural heritage, and must not announce official conclusions without the agreement of the competent agency and the Department of Cultural Heritage.

For artifacts collected during archaeological exploration and excavation, Gia Lai Provincial Museum and Gia Lai Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism are responsible for preserving and protecting artifacts to avoid damage or loss and reporting to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on plans to protect and promote the value of those artifacts.

After completing the archaeological exploration and excavation, the Gia Lai Provincial Museum and the Southern Institute of Social Sciences must have a preliminary report and propose a plan for management and protection of the archaeological exploration and excavation area within 01 (one) month at the latest and a scientific report within 01 (one) year at the latest, sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Before announcing the results of the archaeological exploration and excavation, the licensed agency must discuss and reach an agreement with the Department of Cultural Heritage.
