"Right now, if I wanted to, I could put together and pitch a series of seven movies that I would star in," Tom Hanks said on the latest episode of The Adam Buxton Podcast , which was released over the weekend, according to CNN .

"Now anyone can recreate themselves at any age using AI or Deepfake technology… If I get hit by a bus tomorrow and that's it, my performance can go on forever," the Oscar-winning actor added.
MC Buxton then suggested that people could tell the difference between the AI version of Tom Hanks and the real version, and wondered if audiences would actually be bothered by the AI version.
"There's no doubt about it. The question is, will the audience care? Some people definitely won't care," the actor acknowledged.
Tom Hanks revealed that the task of creating an AI version of Tom Hanks became easier when his likeness and movements were recorded for use in the 2004 theatrical release The Polar Express .

Hanks also added that the development of AI is encouraging film companies to sign contracts to protect actors' likenesses as intellectual property.
"There are a lot of discussions going on within unions, agencies and law firms to come up with a legal proposal about the actor's face and voice belonging to us. It's an intellectual property thing," Tom Hanks said.
Tom Hanks is currently promoting his debut novel: The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece .

Some early reviews of the book have been mixed, but Tom Hanks is taking criticism on his literary journey.
