Cao Pendant Quang Vinh shared that his goal since returning to Vietnam to play football was to one day play for the national team, and that goal still holds true today.
“My family and I were extremely proud after I received Vietnamese citizenship. My mother called me while I was training with the Hanoi Police Club, then I called her back and my mother almost cried” - Cao Pendant Quang Vinh shared his feelings after officially receiving Vietnamese citizenship.
Quang Vinh joined the Hanoi Police Club at the beginning of the 2024/25 season and quickly affirmed his talent. With a Vietnamese mother, the defender born in 1997 was quickly supported by the club's leadership with legal procedures to apply for citizenship in the hope that he could contribute to the Vietnam national team.

Sharing about the time waiting for citizenship, the 28-year-old player said: “I was very excited while waiting for citizenship. It was a long time for me. I feel very happy because the process of applying for Vietnamese citizenship has ended well.
I have 3 Vietnamese lessons a week. In addition, I also study by myself through an application on my phone. My Vietnamese is getting better every day. I love Vietnam. This is a wonderful environment where I am living. Vietnamese people are very kind and hospitable. My family and I love the food and the beautiful landscapes in Vietnam.”
Maintaining his goal from the first days of returning to his motherland, Quang Vinh emphasized: “I am officially Vietnamese. This is a great source of motivation for me to continue to strive on the field. I will show my best performance to prove myself for the goal of being called up to the national team.”
Hopefully, with his own efforts, Quang Vinh will be given the opportunity to return to contribute to the Vietnam team in the near future.
