Small actions make big changes from Earth Hour
Vietnam has officially responded to Earth Hour since 2009. Over the past 15 years, the campaign has not stopped at turning off lights for 60 minutes but has also included many practical initiatives and actions such as using renewable energy, reducing plastic waste and promoting a green lifestyle.
The atmosphere at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House was bustling as many young people came to respond to Earth Hour 2025.
Le Thuong (28 years old) shared that she has participated in this activity for many years. “I find the campaign to be very meaningful, not only spreading sustainable lifestyles and encouraging energy saving but also raising community awareness. A small action but creating a big change,” Thuong said.
Joining in the exciting atmosphere, Bui Hoa Dang (Thanh Da High School) eagerly showed off his first time participating in such a large-scale activity.
Hoa Dang said the campaign helped him learn more about how to save energy, contribute a little to building a cleaner Earth, and spread positive values.

Green Transition - Green Future
In 2025, Earth Hour will take place with the message “Green transition - Green future”. The campaign not only calls for turning off the lights but also aims at the long-term commitment of individuals and businesses in reducing emissions, green transition and moving towards Net Zero.
Misses H'Hen Nie, Tieu Vy, Bao Ngoc, Y Nhi, Que Anh, Kieu Duy and a number of beauty queens and runners-up were present at this year's program.
There is also the participation of many other artists in the Ho Chi Minh City Artist Volunteer Club. All of them wish to spread the message of energy saving, towards sustainable development.
At exactly 8:30 p.m., all the lights from many corners and famous places in Ho Chi Minh City turned off simultaneously, sending a message about saving energy.
This is also the moment when more than 5,000 cities in nearly 200 countries take action to commit to protecting the environment for 60 minutes.

I am proud to tell you that I have participated in the project of planting forests, living green, and collecting trash in many canals of Ho Chi Minh City. Participating in Earth Hour helps me feel younger, full of energy and more determined with environmental projects.

Misses Bao Ngoc and Tieu Vy also called on everyone to take action to protect the environment. The small tips that Tieu Vy still uses every day are replacing plastic bottles with glass bottles, using paper and bamboo straws, and bringing cloth bags to the supermarket.
On the same morning, Ho Chi Minh City's youth had many activities in response to the Earth Hour 2025 campaign. Including a running race for students and young workers in Ho Chi Minh City in response to the "Green Footsteps" program.
At the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Festival 2025 taking place at the Youth Cultural House and Pham Ngoc Thach Street (District 1), there are also many activities and "green living" spaces to spread a healthy lifestyle to a large number of young people and city residents.
