(VLO) The two sides had no conflict until they accidentally met at a drinking party, but because of tactless words and hooliganism, they got into a fight, sending one to jail and the other to injury.

Recently, the situation of intentional injury crimes has been complicated, causing many consequences for the people involved and society.

These cases should have been resolved "reasonably" but because of being provoked by uncontrolled words, "a small matter becomes a big one", leading to consequences of some people being injured and others having to pay the price with severe sentences under the law.

Through the recent cases of “Intentional Infliction of Injury” brought to trial by the court system, it can be seen that most of the defendants are young, and their behavior is impulsive and rash. On the other hand, some defendants use alcohol and cannot control themselves, leading to impulsive actions.

The People's Court of Vinh Long province has just sentenced defendant Pham Vu Hao (born in 1994, residing in Tam Binh district) to 2 years in prison for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury". The case occurred on January 23 at a wedding in Long Phu commune (Tam Binh district), defendant Hao and victim NNS were both guests at the party.

Here, the two people had a conflict, S. ran home to get a homemade knife to beat Hao. At this time, Hao had already left for a while, when he saw S. holding a weapon, the defendant quickly ran into a house to get a knife to "fight" with S..

However, when Hao held the knife, the handle flew off and the blade hit S. in the stomach. The victim was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment and was treated for more than 10 days with a disability rate of 53%.

Defendant Hao's criminal behavior is dangerous to society, not only harming the health of others but also causing disorder, so the first instance court of Tam Binh District People's Court sentenced the defendant to 3 years in prison.

Realizing his mistake, immediately after the first instance trial, the victim S. filed an appeal asking for a reduced sentence and for the defendant Hao to receive a suspended sentence.

Although late, the defendant's remorse and the victim's awareness of his mistake were also recognized by the panel of judges, thereby reducing the defendant's sentence by 1 year, which is enough of a deterrent for the defendant and a lesson not only for the victim but also for many people in how to behave when conflicts arise.

It can be seen that many serious cases originate from small conflicts in daily life. Just because of lack of self-control, or outburst of anger, not realizing the danger of words and actions, leading to unfortunate consequences.

In addition, we must mention the negative influences from the negative aspects of society, the abuse of stimulants, lax management and education of the family,... which have caused a part of the youth to have distorted perceptions, to indulge in partying, to compete, to be easily provoked, to be enticed, leading to conflicts and illegal acts.

In the case of “Murder” tried by the People’s Court of Vinh Long province against the defendant Phung Van Cu Em (born in 1992, residing in Tan Quoi town, Binh Tan district), also stemming from a conflict at the drinking table, the defendant stabbed the victim many times. Accordingly, when Em was drinking with his neighbors, LVS brought his friends over to play.

Not long after joining the party, S.'s friend started talking loudly. Em was not satisfied so he chased this person away.

At this time, S. was lying in a hammock witnessing the incident and thought that the drinking place was not Em's house, so the two argued. Not stopping there, Em took out a knife and attacked S., causing injuries to the head, neck, and face, forcing him to run to the next house to hide.

According to the assessment, S. suffered 29% injuries. Just because he was not satisfied with the words spoken at the drinking table, the victim and the defendant used force to resolve the matter, causing one to go to jail and the other to be injured. According to the panel of judges, because S. resisted, Em did not carry out the crime to the end, and S. did not die beyond the defendant's wishes.

Meanwhile, after committing the crime, defendant Em saw people taking S. to the emergency room but did not help, ignoring the consequences, showing his hooliganism, so sentencing the defendant to 9 years in prison for "Murder" was the right person, the right crime.

Through these cases, it is also a lesson for everyone to control themselves, calmly find ways to resolve unnecessary conflicts in life.

On the other hand, to combat and prevent this type of crime, it is necessary to pay special attention to the role of management and education of families and local authorities towards young people, especially those who are slow to develop, to avoid possible unfortunate consequences.
