Patriotic emulation spirit among farmers

30% of farmer members have good and rich income; no members are poor or near-poor households; multiple effective production and business models;... these are the outstanding achievements of the Farmers' Association (FA) of Dan Quyen commune (Tam Nong district) in recent years.

Thanks to the support of HND, the pink banana growing model of member Nguyen Thi Lien in zone 5 has developed, bringing high economic efficiency.

Identifying patriotic emulation as the driving force for the development of association activities, the Farmers' Association of Dan Quyen commune has implemented many good and creative ways, encouraging members to actively innovate production methods, contributing significantly to changing the face of the countryside and improving farmers' lives.

Visiting the Dong Nung fish sauce production facility of Thuong Nong Agricultural Cooperative (Zone 5, Dan Quyen Commune) - a collective that has won the title of exemplary collective for many years in the movement "Farmers compete in production and good business" of the Farmers' Association of Dan Quyen Commune, we saw the excitement on the faces of the cooperative members.

Ms. Vu Thi Hong Le (member of the cooperative) shared: Previously, my family produced fermented fish on a small scale, fragmented, and with low economic efficiency. The Commune Farmers' Association mobilized me to participate in the linkage model at Thuong Nong Agricultural Cooperative to synchronize the production process, improve designs, increase product value, etc. After 5 years, my family's model has developed, bringing in 3-4 times more income than the traditional way of doing things before. In 2023, I was recognized as an outstanding farmer in the movement "Farmers compete in production and good business" of the Dan Quyen Commune Farmers' Association. This is the motivation for me to continue to strive to compete in labor production to reap many "sweet fruits" in the coming time.

In recent years, thanks to the practical and effective implementation of solutions to support farmer members in economic development and sustainable poverty reduction associated with emulation movements such as: "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty"; "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas"; "Emulation to apply digital transformation to agricultural production",... the activities of the Farmers' Association of Dan Quyen commune have received the response and active participation of members and farmers.

In the period of 2020-2024, the whole Association has over 4,000 members and farmers registering for good production and business households at all levels; over 300 farmer households are supported with loans through the capital source of the Association entrusted by the Social Policy Bank with a total outstanding loan of over 10 billion VND; mobilized 400 officials, members and farmers to participate in short-term vocational training courses in the agricultural sector; successfully built a 3-star OCOP product with the Dong Nung fish sauce brand of Thuong Nong Agricultural Cooperative; coordinated with functional units to organize 3 legal consultation sessions, provide legal aid and distribute 120 legal advice handbooks to members and farmers...

The security and order self-management team of the People's Committee of Zone 6, Dan Quyen Commune organized cleaning to ensure that the inter-zone road is always green, clean and beautiful.

As a core organization in new rural construction, in addition to economic development movements, the Commune Farmers' Association has also promoted propaganda to members to build rural infrastructure, actively participate in movements to build cultural life and farmers' movements to participate in protecting security and order. In the period of 2020 - 2024, the Commune Farmers' Association mobilized 100% of members to participate in supporting and contributing over 5 billion VND to upgrade 7.2 km of rural roads, over 3 billion VND to repair and upgrade cultural houses, 500 million VND to build a drainage system; 15/15 branches have built a model of self-management of security and order in the commune...

With outstanding achievements in the Association's work, the Farmers' Association of Dan Quyen commune has been honored to receive many certificates of merit from all levels, sectors and superior organizations. In particular, in 2021, the Association was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association for its outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement.

Comrade Bui Huu Nam - Chairman of the Commune Farmers' Association said: The Association currently has over 1,800 members operating in 15 branches. In the coming time, the Association will continue to focus on launching and improving the quality of patriotic emulation movements among cadres and members; focus on innovating the content and methods of the Association's activities; enhance setting examples and fostering typical examples in patriotic emulation movements... Thereby consolidating the role and position of the association as well as affirming the role of farmers in the field of agricultural production, building new rural areas, contributing to the successful implementation of the task of socio-economic development of the locality.
