According to a VNA correspondent in Mexico, the visit is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mexico diplomatic relations (May 19, 1975 - May 19, 2025) and also aims to   implementing the policy of upgrading bilateral relations to a new level in the coming time.

During their stay in San Luis Potosí state, Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh and the delegation had a working session with Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, leaders of the Ministry of Economic Development of the San Luis Potosí state government, participated in a trade and investment promotion forum, met with the local business community and visited a number of key industrial parks.

At the meetings and working sessions, Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh gave an overview of Binh Duong's potential and comparative advantages, emphasizing that this is one of the three localities with the most dynamic economic development in Vietnam, especially in the industrial sector and attracting foreign investment.

According to Mr. Vo Van Minh, thanks to its modern industrial infrastructure, favorable for domestic and foreign enterprises to invest, Binh Duong is currently on the list of localities with the largest number of industrial parks in Vietnam, playing an important role in the production supply chain in the electronics, textile, wood processing, mechanical, food industries, etc.

Welcoming the delegation of Binh Duong province, Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona said that as one of the states with the largest foreign direct investment (FDI) in Mexico, San Luis Potosí and Binh Duong have many similarities in economic development policies and attracting foreign investment capital, especially the two sides have shared many experiences related to building industrial park infrastructure, supporting businesses as well as creating a favorable investment environment.

Based on the above foundations, Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona emphasized that San Luis Potosí and Binh Duong need to strengthen cooperation in many fields to optimize the advantages and available resources of each side, thereby bringing practical benefits to society, the business community as well as workers.

Thanking the invitation to visit Binh Duong by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh, Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona proposed a plan to implement the twinning relationship between Binh Duong province and San Luis Potosí state to open up a space for stronger cooperation between the two localities, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mexico.

Meanwhile, at the working sessions, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Van Hai also pointed out the potential for multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries as well as between Binh Duong and San Luis Potosí.

According to the Ambassador, recently, Vietnamese enterprises have increased their investment in Mexico, notably FPT Corporation opened a representative office in Guadalajara city, Jalisto state; Formula Air Company opened a representative office in Puebla state; Vinfast electric vehicle manufacturing group signed a Memorandum of Understanding on supplying electric buses in Durango state.

Assessing Mexico as one of Vietnam's important markets in Latin America, Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai called on businesses to strengthen connections and take advantage of free trade agreements (FTAs), especially the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
