Although the South is still the region with the highest live hog prices in the country, the downward trend in some provinces suggests that the market may be entering a period of adjustment. If this downward trend continues, live hog prices in the South are likely to fall further in the coming time, especially in the context of low demand and stable supply.

Pig price forecast tomorrow, March 21, 2025 may continue to decrease slightly in the next few days

Based on the current market situation and influencing factors, the price of live pigs on March 21, 2025, in Vietnam is likely to continue its slight downward trend in all three regions of the North, Central - Central Highlands and the South. In the North, the price may fluctuate between 71,000 - 73,000 VND/kg, with some provinces such as Lao Cai, Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang possibly decreasing by another 1,000 VND/kg to 71,000 VND/kg due to the pressure of abundant supply and weak purchasing power.

The Central Highlands region is also forecast to decrease slightly, with Quang Tri possibly reaching 70,000 VND/kg, while provinces such as Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan will maintain higher levels, around 77,000 - 78,000 VND/kg.

In the South, the price of live pigs may decrease further in provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Dong Nai, to 78,000 VND/kg, while other provinces such as Tra Vinh, Dong Thap may remain at 79,000 VND/kg.

However, the decrease will not be too strong because farmers are limiting sales to avoid losses, combined with the influence of the international market, where pork prices have not fluctuated much due to China reducing imports and Europe increasing exports. Farmers should closely monitor market developments and consider keeping their herds if prices drop sharply, while optimizing farming costs to minimize risks.
