Households participating in the shrimp-rice project receive capital from the farmer support fund of Kien Giang province.

The Tay Yen A commune shrimp-rice project has 10 participating households; the total area is nearly 30 hectares, extensive shrimp farming on rice land. The project implementation period is 24 months from the date the Provincial Farmers Support Fund Executive Board disburses capital to borrowers; the loan fee is 0.7%/month, equivalent to 8.4%/year.

According to Director of the Kien Giang Farmers Support Fund Vo Thi Thanh Binh, the Executive Board of the Kien Giang Farmers Support Fund currently manages 59 billion VND, has invested in 325 projects, with 2,191 households borrowing capital to develop production and business.
