Trade unions participate in implementing grassroots democracy regulations

- Implementing the Grassroots Democratic Regulations (GDC) is one of the key tasks of trade union organizations to protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. In recent times, provincial trade unions at all levels have actively coordinated with authorities and employers to effectively implement GDC at the workplace, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.

Organizing a conference of workers at the enterprise's grassroots union

According to the assessment of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the implementation of QCDC at the enterprise level is becoming more systematic, effective and practical. The contents are commented on, inspected and monitored by employees and publicly posted by employers on information boards, in regular meetings, dialogues or direct reports at the employee conference on the production and business situation during the year. The awareness of the implementation of QCDC at the enterprise level of employers and employees has clearly changed. The direct superior trade union at the enterprise level has promoted its role in directing, guiding, supporting and supervising enterprises in implementing QCDC at the enterprise level.

In January 2025, the labor conference at An Giang Real Estate Joint Stock Company was successfully held, achieving the goals and expectations for employees. The company's Board of Directors recognized that in the context of economic recession, fluctuations in raw material prices, especially fierce competition with units in the same industry..., significantly affected the company's production and business activities. The company's collective overcame difficulties to complete the task, recognized and rewarded collectives and individuals who excellently completed the task. During the conference, the presidium answered questions, listened to opinions, shared difficulties with employees, and at the same time proposed many specific solutions and directions for development with the determination to complete the business tasks in 2025. The Board of Directors launched the company's collective to continue to compete for good labor, promote initiatives, and improve technical expertise.

At Universal Apparel Company Limited (Binh Hoa Industrial Park, Chau Thanh District), every year, the Labor Conference is held in accordance with regulations, and the collective labor agreement is sent to the unit and agency. In which, the collective labor agreement is implemented in the correct order with more beneficial contents for the employees, ensuring an average income of 6.2 million VND/person/month. The trade union organization in the enterprise operates effectively, is highly appreciated by the superior trade union, regularly organizes cultural and sports activities, builds a close and united environment among the fellow enterprises. The grassroots trade union also proposed to the board of directors to increase some benefits for employees, such as: Attendance allowance, transportation allowance, etc.

According to statistics from the Provincial Federation of Labor, up to now, the whole province has 1,139/1,449 grassroots unions that are qualified to organize conferences of cadres, civil servants, public employees and laborers in 2025, reaching a rate of 78.7%. Of which, conferences of cadres, civil servants, public employees were organized at 1,036/1,214 grassroots unions, reaching 85%. Labor conferences were organized at 103/235 grassroots unions, reaching 43.8%. Organizing conferences at agencies, units and enterprises not only ensures compliance with legal regulations but also creates conditions for cadres, civil servants, public employees and laborers to participate in contributing opinions and proposing solutions to improve professional performance and working conditions.

Through conferences, the rights and obligations of employees are made public and transparent, contributing to enhancing the responsibility of both employees and employers. This year, in addition to regular tasks, trade unions at all levels in the province focus on continuing to promote propaganda work, raising awareness of union members and employees about democratic rights at the workplace, guiding grassroots trade unions to coordinate with authorities and employers to organize periodic dialogues and collective bargaining to build a friendly, safe and effective working environment. Coordinate with relevant departments and branches to inspect the implementation of labor laws and social insurance of enterprises. Thereby, promptly proposing measures to handle enterprises with violations.

In the coming time, provincial trade unions at all levels will continue to promote their role in monitoring and inspecting the implementation of the grassroots labor code, promptly removing difficulties and obstacles to increase the rate of organizing conferences at units. The Executive Board of the Enterprise Trade Union will proactively review and supplement the content of the collective labor agreement and propose negotiations with business owners to improve the legitimate and legal rights of workers. Strengthen the role of representing, caring for and protecting the rights of workers, especially workers in difficult circumstances. At the same time, strengthen solutions to innovate the content and methods of operation to better ensure the rights of union members and workers, contributing to building stable, harmonious and progressive labor relations in agencies, units and enterprises in the province.
