World gold price today

World gold prices were stable, with spot gold falling $4.3 to $3,045.3 an ounce. Gold futures last traded at $3,052.3 an ounce, down $7 from early this morning.

Gold prices steadied on Thursday after a recent rally, but the market maintained its bullish outlook after the US Federal Reserve signaled a rate cut and continued geopolitical and economic uncertainty.

Allegiance Gold CEO Alex Ebkarian said that speculators are trying to take advantage of the market and make a profit... That's why every time the gold price hits a high, there will be a resistance level.

“Gold is not even acting as a safe haven for retail investors because we are not technically in a recession. We are seeing a slowdown in the economy and that is likely to create more uncertainty and more demand for safe haven assets,” said Ebkarian.

Lukman Otunuga, senior research analyst at FXTM, said that gold remains in a strong bullish trend with the next resistance at the psychological level of $3,100 per ounce. He also stressed that a drop below $3,030 per ounce could trigger a lower price decline for gold.

On Wednesday, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said that President Donald Trump's early policies, including extensive import tariffs, may have slowed US economic growth and increased inflation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Trump criticized the Fed's decision to keep interest rates unchanged, despite forecasts of two rate cuts, each by 0.25 percentage points, by the end of the year due to slowing economic growth and higher inflation.

“In our bullish scenario, we forecast gold to reach $3,500/oz by year-end, supported by much higher investment/hedging demand due to concerns about a hard landing/stagnant inflation in the US,” Citi analysts said in a recent note.

With the domestic gold bar price increasing and the world gold price listed at Kitco at 3,045.3 USD/ounce (equivalent to about 94.5 million VND/tael converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, excluding taxes and fees), the difference between domestic and world gold prices is about 5.3 million VND/tael.
