Vietnam Night in Busan recently gathered 600 guests, including representatives from government agencies, organizations related to Vietnamese cinema, and artists and actors.
Representatives of Vietnamese and Korean agencies and organizations included: Mr. Nguyen Tan Kiet, Head of the Arts Department - Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports; Mr. Kim Dong Ho - founder and former president of Busan Film Festival and honorary president of HIFF; Mr. Nam Dong Chul, interim director of Busan Film Festival.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Kiet, representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, assessed that introducing the Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival at Vietnam Night is an important step to bring Vietnamese cinema to the world, building a cultural bridge between countries through cinema.
He said: "HIFF takes place from April 6 to 13, 2024 with many attractive and diverse activities, promising a time when Ho Chi Minh City is filled with a cinematic atmosphere.

The HIFF Organizing Committee also announced that the position of honorary president of HIFF is Mr. Kim Dong Ho, founder and former president of Busan Film Festival. For many years, Mr. Kim Dong Ho has been passionate about Vietnamese cinema and has also been a consultant for HIFF.
"Korea and Vietnam have built a close relationship over many years and have made many important achievements in the process," he said.
Mr. Nam Dong Chul, interim director of Busan Film Festival, assessed Vietnam Night and HIFF as important steps to promote cooperation and film exchange between Korea and Vietnam.
