Capital Alumni Gala 2025: Igniting the passion of 20-year-olds

Returning after 3 years since the first season held in Hanoi, the second season of “Capital Alumni Gala” gathered the participation of more than 100 singers and bands who were former students of the Capital in the 90s, with many prominent names such as: People's Artist Thanh Lam, Bang Kieu, Thuy Dung, Thanh Tam, Thao Van, Dinh Lan Huong, Lien Trinh, ABBA Vietnam group and bands: Phuong Dong, Thoi Gian, Ngua Hoang, Chia Khoa Vang, Purple Blues...

Famous songs from Vietnamese and international bands from the 70s, 80s, and 90s such as ABBA, Modern Talking, Pink Floyd, Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Queen, Buc Tuong, Phuong Dong... were performed one after another, making the performance space explode, leaving unforgettable emotions and impressions on the audience.

Among those who came to enjoy the show, there were people in their 60s and 50s who still passionately “drifted” to the familiar melodies throughout the 6 hours of non-stop music of the gala. They stood together, singing and dancing, despite the pouring rain.

Classic international songs that students from the 1990s-2000s knew both the lyrics and the melody by heart, such as: Hotel California, We are the Champions, Take on me, It's my life, Cheri Lady, You're my heart you're my soul, One moment in time, Everlasting love, True Colors, Everything I do, I do it for u, Mamma Mia! ... are like a memory train taking former students of the Capital back to the most beautiful years of their lives.

According to MC Dinh Tien Dung, this year's Capital Alumni Gala has more than 50 performances with the participation of 108 artists. In the audience area, many people saw famous artists such as actress Kim Oanh, actor - model Tran Hoang Xuan, People's Artist Tran Ly Ly, MC Thanh Huong, My Lan, Phi Linh...

In particular, when Thao Van sang, the audience was surprised by the beautiful voice and professional performance style of the female MC. Meritorious Artist Thanh Tam's performance of the song "Trieu doa hong" in Russian, which many generations of students have memorized by heart, also left a strong impression. The female artist continued to conquer the audience when she sang a duet "Khanh phuc" with singer Thuy Dung.

The program gave the audience a surprise at the last minute with the performance of the band Phuong Dong with Thanh Lam and Quoc Trung with Another day in paradise, True Colors ... Bang Kieu - a member of the band Golden Key also brought emotional moments with the medley Late Summer - Rain with musician Tuan Nghia.
